i'm just saying, they're drastically different now...

Goth.... hmmm... there is a degree of elegance to it... like, the fashion statment is very lacey and long and flowy....
and... their lyrics tend to be very poetic... to some extent i think Shakespear was kinda gothic... (actually, probaly very gothic ^^;)
it was a movement... i can't remeber when... somewhere around Queen victorias rane... but goths now listen to... what ever they want 😌

but the catagory would be... i don;t know, i'll have to get an example for you...

Besides, If Kaoru himself said that they are Jrock (the interview in Berlin) then he knows best right? =)
It just makes me mad that so-called Hardcore Dir en grey fans say that they are NOT Jrock anymore, that they are new metal and that everyone who says that they are Jrock don't know anything...
How the hell did Dir en grey become NON jrock, did they become non japanese??

Alright, I asked my friend for his opinion and he though about it, and said Dir are more metal than rock... But I still don't know :D They are Jrock.. just.. Jrock metal (?) haha. :p

hee hee, yeah, metal's a derivitive from rock, and seing as there's not a Jmetal catagory officially (otherwise D'espa would be in it 😊), they gotunder Jrock, and then... yeah, they'd be clasified as metal...
however, i wonder if people in Japan call thinkgs Jrock or not.... :?

i guess int theory we should ask onna them :?
 
I don't care about the labels put on types of music... I mean who cares what it's 'called' as long as you enjoy listening to it? :music:

haha - for ages I didn't listen to metal (until I was about 13)... because I thought I didn't fit in with what the 'image' of it was like... got such a stereotyped category... and then of course I had the revelation and never looked back. 😌

I'm not sure if japanese people call Jrock "Jrock" :LOL: Although when I was speaking to the group of Japanese girls at school I asked them what music they liked and they said "Jpop" (and acted like I wouldn't know what the hell that was :eek: lol)

Dir en Grey to America - official?

I recently heard from a friend, and though I can't remember where she got this information, something about jpophouse. Anyway, does anyone know if this has been verified? Dir en Grey touring America this Winter with Slipknot?

God forbid Diru would come to America... let alone with Slipknot of all bands. But I'm not in the mood right now to argue, I just want to see if anyone has any more information on this.

I was on their official sit e last night and I think I would have noticed something like that... and Slipknot... *rolls around laughing for an hour*

if they are touring so soon shouldn't it be on the offical site already? also shouldnt the tickets be on sale already?

when it first came out it was exciting so i was like "OMG this is so good!" now that i actually listen to it, it's not as creative as their previous albums.

I think it is still creative... not as diverse but if your actually listening to the instruments individually and then all together and pick the songs apart in your head (like I do XD) then you can see it's still very creative. :?

Likely and sure thing aren't the same... it's a bad idea to say such things seeing as some people who shall remain nameless get offended at people posting this that aren't 100% for sure true. Some people will take that as Dir en Grey is infact coming here as well. ^^;

Lets all remain hopefully shall we till there is an official announcement. :-)
 
Dir en Grey is comming either in october or this winter through Jpop house. I no longer can go to anime iowa though I spent 253$ on my outfit and 40 on a wig because of this. This is such irony..
 
Oh my God, I LOVE that clip!!!! I want to buy the single even more now! Though, I will anyways, sometime early October.

im not being critical, i just want to make sure so i can buy the tickets early. also nothing has been said on offical site or jpophouse... and that other website didnt give much info either.
 
the one minute clip wasnt so impressive either...i miss Kyo actually singing.
 
Are you saying that I'm not the only person who does that? I love picking songs apart and analyzing those separate pieces and then adding them together to see the entire picture. It's actually kind of fun... >_>
