Dir en grey

gothic lolita is kawaii - specially when it´s really really doll-like. (so nice!)

besides, pretty difficult to dress like the Dir en Grey-members do. I mean, where could you get the clothes!!?!? (NOT in Sweden at least. seems like japan has the coolest stores.)

I dress Visual Kei-ish every day. Before I found out bout' j-rock I didn't have a style. I looked really boring. But when I found out bout J-Rock and Diru I started dressing that way cause I thought their style was THE COOLEST EVER! And I still do. My favorite color has always been purple. ^^ And as in Sweden Norway dosn't hold any cool Visual Kei stores. So I make my own designed clothes. And I also cosplay Kaoru. ^^

wait.. you make your own clothes? you sew them yourself? Or you just design them and let someone sew them?

I really couldn't make my own clothes. and having someone sew them is expensive!!

I'll have to go to Tokyo instead... :-)

if im making a full costume i sew it myself, but normally i buy things and put them togeher, vk-styled things are pretty expensive to buy, so sewing is alot cheaper.

You know, speaking of bass...I must be one of the only people that don't think Shinya or Toshiya shined until Vulgar. I hardly hear any drums or bass lines that are all that catchy in any of their previous CDs. But in Vulgar, most of the songs have you on the edge of your seat waiting for the drums or bass to come in.

I think Shinya's started coming in most obviously on Kisou, with tracks like ZOMBOID, Domestic ****er Family, FILTH and Karasu, and was really impressive on Six ugly. Bass was obvious from Macabre, with songs like egnirys cimredopyh and KR Cube. I've never had a problem not being able to hear them or with catchy drums or basslines not being around. $$$

Not so much that I haven't been able to hear them as they just don't catch my attention like they do in Vulgar. Like I said, probably just me. But Audience Killer Loop, The IIId Empire, Syokubeni, Red...[em], Drain Away, Obscure, and Child Prey all thrive off of killer bass or drums, or both. And it's no secret that Sojou No Uta would be nothing without it's bass. -shrug- Just happens to be what my ears hear, and what pleases them.

Wow, that is a hard question... here are my top 4 Dir en Grey songs:

Kasumi, Yokan, The Final, and R To The Core.

Shinya's drums were extremely impressive in Umbrella and Toshiya's bass was the best in Cage ^^

I agree about Toshiya's bass in Cage...its soo awesome...I always end up tapping or humming to it whenever I hear it...its even made me like the bass more than I usually tend to...^^

OMG!!! Look at this SHORT video clip!!
HERE!!!!!

(I guess you have to save it so that it works...... tell again if it doesn't....)

I will die before receiving their new CD...... It sounds too good!! And they look so great!!!

Invasion America - Dir en Grey

Ok... I just discovered this site. Apparently this organization is trying to persuade Dir en Grey to come to America. They are trying to prove that there is a big enough fan-base here and fans willing to travel to see them perform. They hope to hold the concert somewhere in the Mid-West.

Don't worry... I checked. It's a recent site and was updated just yesterday.

I'm not sure that it would even work, but what could it hurt to sign the petion? I did. They don't even have 50 signatures yet and they have a goal of 3,500 signatures.

Please share this website on other forums, with friends, and such. Who knows... it could actually work. Like I said... it can't hurt either.

You've got PLC that i think finished their tour and now are on their way( if not done already) to disbanding,

Uhhhh.

What the ****?
No. PLC is not disbanding, nor are they on their way to it. They're doing what are called "side projects". They don't have a tour scheduled for this summer, so they're expanding their horizons a bit. Aya and seek are only doing a temporary thing with Isabelle, Yura-sama is doing a quickie tour, and Daishi has for the forseeable future only this one single scheduled and done with. They have an autumn tour scheduled, I'm sure. If solo workings were a sign of disbandment, L'arc would be years dead.

Favorite Dir en grey songs

So many to choose from! Dir en grey is my favorite Japanese band and Kyo's voice is just so... original, although, he can be out of tone at times (GOMEN NASAI KYO!!!), but their music still kicks ***.
My favorite songs include:
Cage
Akuro No Oka
Yokan
raison detre
ASH
Mr. NEWSMAN
umbrella
HOTARUBI
ZOMBOID
GYAKUJOU TANNOU KELOID MILK
MUSHI

Shinsou #3
SYOKUBENI/SHOKUBENI
KASUMI
DRAIN AWAY
OBSCURE
Child Prey
Merciless Cult-saku-
GARBAGE
THE FINAL
KODOU

Yeah, I know a LOOONG list, but do note, I actually cut some (or a lot, depends on the way you look at it ^^) songs off of this list to make it... err. somewhat shorter *nervous laugh* 😌

I enjoy pretty much all of Diru's music, but I gotta admit that their rock-sounding stuff is my favorite. -ZAN-, Wake, audience KILLER LOOP, RED...[em], Mr. NEWSMAN, and MARMALADE CHAINSAW are definitely some of my top songs. 👍

i dunno i'd have to say my all time fav is Cage, but everything else are so good as well... right now i really like the sound of I'll

I'll is a very good song, and so is Yokan, and ALL of hteir songs of course. But one thing about KODOU and THE FINAL, me and a friend from school find them very similar... >_> in terms of sound of course! ^^

This is hard :?

Raison D'etre was the first song I got hooked on... I saw the PV and was like 😲.

But Pink Killer was the song I got stuck on for the longest (nearly 4 months) I couldn't go a day without listening to it at least 5 times... It's probably my favorite. :p

I like that PV... O_o
But for me, I didn't have my computer *hugs it desperately* until about a year ago, and all my friends were going on and on about Dir en grey, and I felt so... deprived. So the first song I actually heard from Dir en grey, was OBSCURE, and since I heard that song, I knew that all their stuff was great, and so... my obsession began ^^ But I really do love a lot of their older stuff as well, like Ain't Afraid To Die and Cage - Toshiya's bass is KILLER! - and other random songs... >_>

My faves are Cage, Pink Killer and Fukai (can't choose out of those!). Although I've still got quite a bit of their stuff to get... and a coupla songs on the 'new - need to listen' list!!!

I do too... but it's not a good pv to see first... something frilly like garden would have been easier on the eyes

I don't know what song I heard first :sorry: I was listening to jrock in 2000 and didn't even realize it :D

lol I would have to change my answer like every DAY! I love every album equally, even the singles too... And I don't normally like nor buy singles, in fact, I'm getting an order delivered this week including the Ain't Afraid To Die single, and it's the FIRST single I have ever purchased... I just don't buy singles... I'll only buy Diru ones now though! :-)

Haha... I do... infact like 10 times within the same day. :D

It's a lovely single... you will really like it. :-)

Have you bought any of their lives yet. :p
