Dir en grey

I dun know if people post stuff like this all of the time, but I didn't really know where to put this. Gomen nasai! :sorry: Anyways, I love Dir en Grey and I just wanted to ask some of you about Dir en Grey, like ..who's your favorite member of the band and what is your favorite song that they've made?

I (like a majority of people I know) like Raison d'etre as one of my favorites. That and Cage....and Yokan. Kyo has a very disturbed mind ( I like it ) ;) Also, once I heard that all of Dir en Grey's songs are love songs. I don't know if that is necessarily true or not. Oh well. Any Dir en Grey fans out there?
 
Um...honestly, Dir en Grey have lyrically (and musically) evolved to more of an alternative metal/punk band. The lyrics are >good<.
Suicide, social criticism, abortion, sexual abuse of children, incest, oh and lovesongs.
That kind of stuff's most of their songs about.

Personally, I like Drain Away, 24 Cylinders and Mushi.

Toshiya is an awesome bass player.
And Shinya a living drumming machine.
Otherwise, they are average (I can play the guitar stuff *g*), though Kyo has a very characteristic voice.
 
Well I do know what they are about.... But I was talking to someone who seemed to know more than I did and they said that all of Kyo's songs are love songs. I was in a bit of a disbelief, since most of their songs entail death, suicide and generally morbid topics. That's just what I was told.

Toshiya is awesome at bass. ;) I agree totally.

Did I mention that I like Tsubi to matsu (I think that's what it's called) I just know it translates to something like: Honey and Saliva - Crime and Punishment...

That's a really dirty song! Awww. Kyo. ^_^ ;) Gotta love him.

Yeah the kanji are actually mitsu to tsuba, meaning honey and saliva, but they are supposed to be read the other way around...ah well you get the rest ^^;

I don't know... I love them all... so much...
Especially Drain Away... or the new single... very nice.
Or "Bottom of the Death Valley" and the whole Gauze Album...
 
my favorite is Ain't Afraid to Die... don't know why. it made me cry. ::arghh:: okay, enough rhyming... other favorites are Cage, Child Prey, and The Domestic ****** Family... and i'm big liking Drain Away a lot too... the PV's cool! (Kyo has black hair, BLACK HAIR! ::so cute:: and Shinya looks like a boy!)

as for members, i'll be predictable and say Kyo... i love him... PIE~!!! and Wine Kitty! ::cough:: besides that though, i really like Shinya... he gets picked on so much! i laugh, poor guy... and of course i love Toshiya too... the bass line in...(was it Cage or Drain Away...? dunno...) was sweet! and Kaoru and Die, wah! i love them all so much, what a great band!!!
 
i love love Yokan, the classic "I'll"...Child Prey..." gyakujou tannou keloid milk" ....pretty much all of gauze, macabre and of course kisou......drain away? ...honestly....i wasn't impressed at all.....i seriously think it could have been better.....being a deg freak.....its hard for me to admit sometimes that a song sucks......but in my opinion.....this song isn't as good as i really thought it was going to say......mostly all the post i read say they love it! and then they mention how it sounds somewhat like Linkin Park......maybe the problem is ...that i do not like Linkin Park at alll....so I'm not too happy with the song either...o_o.....well I know i'm not the only one who thinks this.....i dont mean to offend any! ^^;;;; don't bash me please it's just MY oppinion....
 
since I dont know any japanese, I have to go with the songs that sound cool, and disreguard all lyrics, therefore
1) Cage
2) Tsumi To Batsu
3) Mask
 
Gauze is an awesome album. My friend bought me the "Mars" album that Gackt put out for my birthday, and she got "Gauze". I was glad that it had most of my favorite songs on it. But hell... there's this song.....where there is a baby crying in the beginning... I don't know what it's called but it's really neat. I like the song itself.
 
Personally, I really like Cage... just because I have a fetish for musical boxes... (maybe that's why I like Flood of Tears by Laruku...) but I think Yokan is a pretty song too. And maybe KR[Cube] because it's nice to release stress sometimes.
 
I like Cage because of the beginning also. I think it's such a pretty song.

Mazohyst of Decadence huh? Well, thanks. I wasn't completely sure on it.
 
Ummm... here's a list of my top faves:

:D 1. Mr. Newsman. This song kicks ***. Period.
👍 2. Fukai. I don't know why I like it so much. It's just so cool.
:p 3. Ain't Afriad to Die. Ya, this song is kinda depressing. I like it.
😄 4. Drain Away. Amazing song. I love it so much!
;) 5. Berry. The beginning is so weird. Then the middle. Heh, that's probably why I like it.
:) 6. Kasumi. It's an okie dokie song, nothing way special.


My fave member is... Kaoru (points to avatar). He so cool for some reason. I like his hair (points to avatar again).
 
My favorite song is Child Prey. And my favorite Dir En Grey members are Toshiya and Shinya.

heyo! This is my first post. ^_^ I was listening to some Dir en Gray music, one day..I have been having a had time finding a lot of translations. Does anyone know where I can find any? I would like to know what they're saying. Arigato. ^^ I actually haven't listened to much. I was bored one day and I remebered my friend T like Dir and Gray so I looked it up. Does anyone have any sugestions on what else I should listen to? I lie stuff like Dir en Gray sometimes, but I also like some slower things too ^^ bye! ^_^
 
Thanks. Actually..i already tried there. There are only lyrics for 5 of the songs and only one is translated. Thanks tho, I appreciate it. ^_^

Most are good and the rest....I'll just stay away from. lol:clap: 😄 🌹 I'm going to listen to dome Dir en Gray...as soon as it downlaods anyhow. For now I'll listen to Weiss.

Maybe not. If you search for dir en grey lyrics on Yahoo! a whole bunch of sites come up but if you misspell it by putting dir en gray not as many will. You also might want to try searching for Diru or Diru an. Diru is the Japanese equivelent of Dir en grey and I've heard so is Diru an. I'm not sure how well that would work on a search engine tho.
I'm going to listen to dome Dir en Gray...as soon as it downlaods anyhow. For now I'll listen to Weiss.
