Hi there,

I've found many options meaning design

1.- sekkei suru (設計する)to plan, to design, to lay out.

2.- hakaru, はかる, 図る, えがく

3.- egaku, 画く, 描く, くわだてる, 企てる,

4.- デザイン, dezain

5.- 図案, zuan

...

I need it for an album cover, I just want to name it Design, I really like how "sekkei suru" sounds but would be great if someone could let me know if that's correct.

Many thanks,

設計する is generally used for a big structure(house, building, bridge,,,) or for life planning. If you're going to design an album (cover), デザイン(する) is the common one.

Hi Toritoribe,

Thanks a lot for the ultra-fast response... do you know the romanized version of デザイン(する)?

Thanks again!

All the best,

As in #4 in your quote,

デザイン; dezain(noun)
デザインする; dezainsuru(verb)

hope this helps

Nice, I'd rather use a verb so dezainsuru will be... thanks a lot !!

All the best,

fyi, putting the unconjugated verb form would be like saying "to design;" doesn't make much sense without any context. Japanese books on design would either say it in Katakana as Toritoribe posted, or English.
