I often watch DVDs in.... more natural.

2. We were able to meet President Obama yesterday.
3. I left home earlier than usual this morning.

...with the cooking?

6. Making noise when/while eating noodles is not bad manners in Japan.
7. I wonder if Mary will get there on time.
8. I want you to see how far I can go as a professional player.

Nothing wrong grammatically with the sentence but I can't imagine it being used much!

9. It is difficult to remember how often my sister and I used to fight.

Any questions that I haven't commented on I think are fine (and when there's more than one option in the question (e.g.., would/could), all options are OK).

1. I often watch DVDs in my spare/free time.
5. Would/Could/Can you help me with the cooking?

These are the only changes I could see that I would make. Everything else seems correct and natural to me.

Thanks for your help, Lothor, OoTmaster, and mdchachi.
mdchachi, I'm afraid I can't comment on your thread now. Please wait until I have free time.
