Can someone translate this sentence

I kept getting different translations, every site I went to gave me a different translation.

Are you talking about translation sites like Google Translate or Babel Fish or something like that? Or are you talking about people answering you on forums? And what's so different?

We are counselors who do seminars on infidelity and couples who are trying to get past the cheating. As you know there are a lot of hurt feelings involved and it's not unusual for some to cuss us out or not show to the seminar. We sent out an article and guidelines before our up coming seminar and this was one of the responses. We know the second line has to do with them thinking we sent out spam. But the first line we got everything to "I feel sick....This is making me sick.....I'm disgusted......" and this was form online sites like babylon and a few others but we also tried another form and received different translations for the first line. Our translator won't be here till Thursday so we thought we try to see what it said. Our articles pull no punches so we get all types of responses.

I was going to give a list of possibilities for 気持ち悪い originally, but I thought that "creepy" would probably best suit an e-mail situation (unless there were graphic and disturbing pictures in it... then "disgusting" would have been more appropriate). At any rate, it's notoriously a difficult word to translate, but the point is that the person saying it feels that something is disagreeable in some way to them. Here are the options given at the Kenkyusha Japanese-English dictionary:

気持ちが悪い 《事が主語》 be unpleasant; be disagreeable; 《人が主語》 feel ill [unwell, funny] (気分がすぐれない); feel sick (吐き気がする)

According to that, if a thing is the subject, which it happens to be in this case (e-mail), the glosses are "unpleasant" or "disagreeable". The others are for when a person is the subject. "Creepy" may be a bit strong, but it's somewhere in that neighborhood.

The lines to me come across as a natural reaction to previously unknown "junk mail" -- wary and maybe a bit harassed -- but rather matter of fact in tone. Not at all personally "sick," "disgusted" bent out of shape to the extent you describe here.
