Alstom SA, Nippon Koei Co., and Sumitomo Corp. are interested in taking part in the building of Vietnam's first subway in Ho Chi Minh City, the Saigon Times Daily reported.

Work will begin today on the US$1.1 billion subway system, with a ground-breaking ceremony for a $28 million depot...

Japan is more committing to the economic development of Vietnam.

The East-West Economic Corridor is one of good examples, and now subway.

Development infrustructure is always key for economic growth, and Japan should work together with Vietnam to improve. If Vietnam is equipped with well-developed infrustructure, Vietnam will grow faster because they are quite smart and dilligent.

Many Japanese manufacturers are now shifting their production sites from China to Vietnam. Once Japan move, All will change. The same is true in Vietnam.
