I am 58 living on a modest pension. I have never been married. I live on Kauai the northern major island in Hawaii. I believe that we are not doomed but must make challenging progress. I invented the diode array which is another thread. I like to read. I am a Baha`i. How are you?
Aloha

Welcome :)

Last year I attended a Baha'i function promoting interfaith tolerance and respect. Neat stuff.

Best Wishes Brother

Aloha, Charles-san!
I heard of the earthquake in Hawaii the day before. Were you alright?
Anyway, welcome to the forum.

Aloha, Oe~~~!

Hello there Charles, and thanks for your interesting introduction. I will get into your other thread if time allows. :-)

Can I ask you a question? Is it true that "Aloha" has several meanings, one of it being "I love you"? I heard it in a Japanese tv-drama (ツ鞘?披?ーツ、窶堙娯?ケツウナスツコ) but I don't know if it's true..

See you around!!

I was sitting on a cushion on the floor when the earthquake hit 0708 HST. There was a sound like distant thunder and gentle shaking for a minute. The power tripped off on Oahu the most populated island where Honolulu is. There was some damage to houses on Hawaii, the big island to the south.

Aloha is a general friendly word. It can mean hello, goodbye, I love you, and fare well on your journey. The ha part means breath as if we share the same atmosphere.

I transplanted myself ~30 years ago from SF bay area California. My father saw Hawaii as paradise ~1943

Wars are a terrible waste conducted for stupid reasons. Peace has to be a stronger goal. In Baha`i, an international selection of peacekeepers will arrest the warmakers thus protecting the world federation of peaceful citizens.

Aloha

While the sun gently massages the peacefulness of heart that is at the heart of such lazy autumn days as today, I sit here in my little office at the uni, absorbing the almost unnoticeable breeze that falls down from the Japan Alps to our west, and write out a big WELCOME to Jref !! I hope you stick around, and enjoy all the conversations that we all have going on all over the place here.

I could not help but be reminded of so pleasant days-gone-by of reading Charlie Brown comic books as a child...that was a nice flashback. I'm glad to hear that you were ok, and that (as it seems) there was no big damage to your house and all. I have been lucky in that we have not had the big one yet, in this area--but they say it's coming.
I look forward to hearing from you again !! See you 'round !! 🙂
