I hate the conditionals. I wrote some notes on all of them and I'd just like to see if anyone can think of anything to add/correct any mistakes I have.
～たら
-"if and when"/"if and only if"
全部の宿題を終えたら、学校へ行きます。
I'll go to go school if (and only if) I finish my homework.
-"once"/"when"
今見ている動画が終わったら、送ってくれたのを見ます。
I'll watch the video you sent me once/when the one I'm watching now finishes.
レストランに着いたら、おなかがとてもすいたことに気づきました。
I realized that I was really hungry once/when I got to the restaurant.
-if X, Y would happen
日本へ行ったら、ラーメンをいろいろ食べてみます。
I would eat so many types of ramen if I went to Japan.
-hypothetical
また子供になったら、一日中外で遊びます。
I would play outside all day if I were I child again.
～ば
-if X, Y will happen
日本に住めば、だんだん日本語が上手になるでしょう。
If you live in Japan, you'll gradually get better at Japanese.
-usually a good result
家に帰れば、大丈夫です。
I'll be okay if I go home.
-"unless" (in a negative sentence)
やめなさいと言えなければ、ご飯を食べていきます。
I'm going to keep eating unless you tell me to stop.
～と
-causeとeffect (="if"/"whenever")
私はうそをつかれると怒ります。
If you tell me a lie, I'll get mad.
辛い料理を食べるとおなかが痛くなります。
Whenever I ate spicy food, I get a stomach ache.
-state of beingとresult (="if"/"when")
この皿を洗うときれいになります。
If/When you clean this dish, (then) it will get clean.
-often used with なる (="when")
冬になるとよく落ち込むようになります。
I often get depressed when winter comes.
～なら
-"If you're talking about ___"
Ａ：アジアに行ったことがありますか。
Ｂ：日本なら行ったことがあります。
A: Have you ever been to Asia?
B: I've been to Japan, but that's it.
-assumed contextならresult
-"if give that ___"
-"if ___ is the case, then..."
友達じゃないなら私と話しているのはどうしてですか。
Well, if you're not my friend, then why are you talking to me?

雨が降ったら、プールへ行けません。
If it rains, I can't go to the pool. (it has the connotation of a hypothetic scenario)
雨が降れば、プールへ行けません。
If it rains, I can't go to the pool. (this has a connotation that I maybe didn't want to go to the pool in the first place)
雨が降るとプールへ行けません。
If it rains, I can't go to the pool. (This has a connotation that every time or because of the rain, I can't go.)
雨が降るならプールへ行けません。
If it rains, I can't go to the pool. (This has a connotation that the result is obvious)
