Hello,
What does this mean? I have a vague guess that it might be something like "You should look after your own affairs", but I'm really not sure.
My translation "This is a book that one should read in one's student days, right?" (semi-rhetorical question, expressing the author's view, and expecting an affirmative response)
Is this OK, especially the interpretation of ではないだろうか?
Does this mean "I want young people never to forget this (rule): Never look at a clock."?
4. This is part of a picture caption:
「福沢先生若き日本に西洋文明を教ふ」
Does this essentially mean "Prof. Fukuzawa teaches Japan about Western culture"?
However, I am unsure what 若き refers to. (he doesn't look particularly youthful in the picture). 日本?
Also, what is 教ふ? Is it an old form of something?
5. This is part of a picture caption:
北沢楽天・画
I suppose this means "drawn/painted by 北沢楽天"?
