考えるだけで / じゃござんせんか / しちゃいかんのだ / と言おうと / おおきなひなゆりの花

Hi,


1. 「なんで俺たちが監督生なんかにならなきゃいけないんだい？」ジョージが考えるだけで反吐が出るという顔をした。

Does 考えるだけで mean that he was considering being sick? It doesn't seem quite right. Or does it mean that he only thought, but didn't actually speak, the part 「...」?


2. 「人生真っ暗じゃござんせんか」

What is じゃござんせんか? I'm thinking something to do with ござる, but I don't really understand how it works. Another way of saying じゃないか maybe?


3. 「今学期はハリーはそんなことをしちゃいかんのだ！」

What is しちゃいかんのだ? I guess something to do with して, しまう, か but I don't understand the grammar of かん or how かん attaches to what precedes it.


4. 「ファッジが『日刊予言者新聞』に何と言おうと、事実、我々がブラックを捕まえる見込みは薄いのだよ。」

What does 何と言おうと mean? I recognise all the words, of course, but I can't seem to grasp the overall meaning in the whole context of the sentence.


5. 「私おなかすいた」小さい白いウサギがいいました、そして彼らは止まっておおきなひなゆりの花の部分をたべました。

a) Does おおきな modify ひなゆり or ひなゆりの花, or is it ambiguous?

b) Does 部分 mean that they only ate part of the flower? Or does it mean that the flower is part of the plant? If the latter, how would you say that they ate part of the flower using the word 部分 and making the minumum necessary changes?

That's Tokyo Downtown dialect of じゃございませんか(= polite form of じゃありませんか). So, yes, that's another form of じゃないか.

The last one; "ambiguous". Although I personally think it's おおきなひなゆり, since it's natural to break it as おおきなひなゆりの、花の部分.

b)
The latter interpretation is correct.
花の一部（分） changes the meaning.

In (4), is it possible to explain further the purpose of the second と in 何と言おうと?

"The volitional form + と" means "even (if)", as same as ～（よ）うが or ～ても. This volitional form is actually presumptive.
e.g.
（たとえ）何が起きようと、君を守る。 ＝ 何が起きようが、君を守る。 ＝ 何が起きても、君を守る。
Even if anything happens / Whatever happens, I'll protect you.
