折紙は、自分の判断が甘かったことを知った。
剣压の余波で、おおよその威力を推し量っていたつもりだったがーー違う。明らかに、世界が、違う。

Hi. I know the pattern 〜たつもりだった means "I thought I did..., but...". So compared with 推し量っつもりだった, does 推し量っていたつもりだった have the nuance that 折紙 tried to guess the 威力 but never succeeded? And what is the difference between 推し量っつもりだった and 推し量っていたつもりだった?

Thank you.

This is a trivial thing, but the kanji used in Japanese is , not .

推し量っていた expresses a past experience, i.e., 折紙 thought she had already guessed it previously in the past, but that's wrong.

Thank you. So does 推し量った work in this sentence? If it does, what is the difference between 推し量っていた and 推し量った in this sentence?

推し量った means that she guessed it at the time, not previously in the past of the time, so they are different.

Thank you. So it's just the difference between た (past) and ていた (past perfect), right?
