俺たちのすべて

I'm making my way through a fictional report, and there's a few things I'm stuck on.

1) The first sentence states "[that war changed] 俺たちのすべて." What's the purpose of "俺たちの"? Being overly literal, I thought "our everything", but isn't that just the same as すべて alone?

It's followed by this sentence:

平和だった街の歴史は燃え尽き人々は未来を見失った。 戦い人の"希望"のみならず、"記憶"までを奪い去っていた。

The use of は confuses me - I'm not sure how the predicates connect. "The once peaceful town's history" and "the weary people had lost sight of the future." The 人々 are from the 平和だった街, I understand. "Lost sight of the future of the town's history"? "The future of history" seems a bit of an oxymoron...

"As well as their hope, even the "memories" of those who fought were taken away."?

It's two independent clauses:

平和だった街の歴史は燃え尽きた

and

人々は未来を見失った

Is that really 戦い人? There's no は or something else there?

I double-checked, and there is a は after 戦い... so that would be what took away their 希望 and 記憶. Thanks for noticing that.
