In the light of your answer to (4), why should it not be 誰も、何にも気づいていないようだった for the meaning "No one seemed to notice anything"?

Unlike 誰, 何 is hardly the subject of 気づく, so 何も is naturally interpreted as the object. 誰も、何にも気づいていないようだった is valied, of course.
