I am uncertain at ... . How to parse this?

Can this refer to a situation becoming disorganised/disordered as well as a person becoming confused?

What is the subject of 転がりだした? Is it 蜘蛛 or 蜘蛛の脚?

Can this mean that someone (indicated by the context) seemed not to notice anyone or anything? Or can it only mean that no one seemed to notice anything?

What is the meaning of 上で here?

1)

とも is originally from と + も.

2)
Yes.

3)
That's 蜘蛛 since 蜘蛛の脚 are disappeaed.

4)
The latter. It must be 誰も、何も for the former meaning.

5)
~する上で: in order to~

Thanks as always Toritoribe.

In the light of your answer to (4), why should it not be 誰も、何も気づいていないようだった for the meaning "No one seemed to notice anything"?

Unlike 誰, 何 is hardly the subject of 気づく, so 何も is naturally interpreted as the object.
