Hi,

1. 私のアメリカのクラスはそんなに形式ばっていません。

Translation given: "My American classes are more informal."

What is ばって? Could it be from this:

ばる 《張る》 (suf,v5r) (uk) to be prominently ...; to be persistently

?

2. In 炭坑節, presumably 節 means "tune", does it?

3. 協力 日本舞踏家 石川流瀧田美成氏

This a caption for a video. I get:

協力 = with the cooperation of

日本舞踏家 = Japanese Dance Company (does 家 mean "Company", more or less?)

石川流瀧田美成氏 = I recognise 石川 as a name. Then I assume this might be followed by a first name, but I am basically lost about where the word divisions fall or what the rest of it means and whether it is all a name or names.

4. あのバーは彼が良く顔を出すお気に入りの場所である。

Translation given: "That bar is one of his favorite haunts."

Does 彼が良く顔を出す modify お気に入りの場所?

5. ちょっと敬語を着てみませんか

This is the title of a text that compares correct use of keigo with wearing appropriate clothes. I suppose that's where 着て comes in, but I don't quite get the sense of みませんか in this context. Is this addressed to the reader? Or somehow referring to the author?

The 家 in this case is more like that in 専門家 and is indicative of an individual, not a group. The person is associated with the Ishikawa style/school/tradition of dance. It is common to refer to styles/traditions of certain cultural arts (including martial arts) as 流 and further subdivisions as 派. For example I once studied 小野派一刀流 kendo.

4. Yes

5. Sounds like a sarcastic way of chastising the other person to speak more politely.

張る(ばる) here does not stand alone, it's a suffix.

[接尾]《動詞五(四)段型活用。動詞「は(張)る」の接尾語化》名詞の下に付いて、
そのことが一段と顕著である、そのことを強く押し通す意を表す。
「四角―・る」「格式―・る」「欲―・る」

形式ばる = formal

Yes.
There are many songs called ~節.
炭坑節 is a song sung by miners.

Thank you both. Can anyone help with 石川流瀧田美成氏? It looks too long to be all one name, but I don't know how to decipher it.

石川流:~流 means school for certain traditional Japanese arts. 石川流 = Ishikawa school

瀧田美成 瀧田(たきた) is a family name 美成(よしなり) is a male name.

氏 honorific usually used for male

Oh thanks Undrentide; Mike, I see now you practically answered this question earlier, but somehow I didn't twig...

That's quite alright. I don't always compose posts as well as I should when I'm doing it at work via my iphone, such as I did in my first answer.
