Hi,

1. 互いの嫌悪感で、重苦しい沈黙が流れていた。

I can understand the general idea of this, but what is the exact role of で?

2. 「いいか」シリウスが椅子ごと反っくり返り、椅子を後ろの二本脚だけで支えながら・・・

What does ごと mean here?

It indicates the cause/reason (of 重苦しい沈黙), just like "due to" in English.

Thanks Toritoribe,

1) Presumably this is the particle で (as opposed to the -て form of the copula)?

2) I did consider that meaning actually, but I discarded it because I didn't see how it fitted. Actually, I cannot make sense of 椅子ごと反っくり返り at all. Would it be possible for you to give me a literal English translation?

Yes.

2)
It describes the state of the chair and him, not just him. He doesn't lean back in the chair, but tilts the chair itself to the back (by lifting the front side of the chair up) with his body in it.
