Hi,

1. どこを見てもスニッチの影すらない。

Which すらない is this?

2. 通り過ぎながら、ハリーはバッジに何が書いてあるか読もうとしたが、ロンがテーブルを通り過ぎるように気を使うほうが忙しく、立ち止って読んではいられんさかった。

I misread this sentence initially, thinking that the subject of the whole of the second part, after ロンが, was Ron. Which word(s) tell the reader that the subject is Harry?

1) すら is a word by itself in this case meaning something like "even." (Check the dictionary.) Also shadow is not necessarily literal. It's a set phrase like "There's no sign of Snitch no matter where I look."

は and the context are the key. In fact, if it's, for instance, ロンがテーブルを通り過ぎるように気を使うほうが気になって, the subject of 気を使う can be Ron.
