しとる

Going through my notes, I've seen this a few times but I haven't sucessfully been able to research it.

I've only ever seen it used in place of する with compatible nouns.

I suspect it is either a compound verb form of する (し＋とる) or a regional/dialectical form of する / している.

Is anyone familiar with this? Thanks.

It's the contraction of しておる or a regional/old people's dialect for している.
