1. 去年、スネイプの鼻先からシリウスを逃がすのにハリーが手を貸したことで、これ以上強くなりようがないはずのスネイプの憎しみが、ますますひどくなった。

Does これ以上強くなりようがないはずのスネイプの憎しみ mean "Snape's hatred, which, it seemed, could not get any stronger than this"? If so, stronger than what? Than it was before Harry helped Sirius to escape?

2. 襟元からちょこんと飛び出した小さな顔は、興奮しきって、・・・

Is しきって = し (stem of する) + きって (= 切って)? What does it mean? Expressing some kind of extreme?

3. 私は縫われたばっかりで、糸も新し、真新し
(a magical talking hat is speaking)

Why 新し not 新しい?
