In this video, we'll cover two Japanese grammatical forms that can be translated as "when": "-RU TOKI"(-るとき) and"-TA TOKI" (-たとき).

First, we'll discuss the difference between the DICTIONARY FORM (ending in -ru)+TOKI and the other way, TA FORM +TOKI:
  • Dictionary Form(Non-past form) indicates an action that happens all the time (or with some frequency) and also if the action isn't completed yet
  • The TA-Form(Past form) is used when the action is over and finished. Let's see, with practice, examples of HOW and WHEN to use each of these expressions.
