True Confession

I did it. I admit it. It was all me. I cut my own hair.

It's one of those things that you can never be truly sure if you did an alright job until someone else confirms it, however. After I finished, I decided to go to the store to buy an extra mirror so I could check the back of my head. Another motive I had was to see if anyone stared at me funnier than usual.

No...I don't think so. People seem to be as disinterested as normal...that's a good sign...

So I get home and check as best I can for myself. It looks fine as far as I can tell, although looking really close up like this, I can see a few hairs that I missed around the ears.

SNIP SNIP

Today I went to work, and no one commented on it at all, which is a good thing. I told one coworker who told me that you'd never know if you weren't specifically told like that.

So I feel pretty good. I was able to do a passable haircut on myself without any help or guidance. I miss the massage and other perks at the place I had been going to, but I guess that's just how it goes sometimes. Since I had the clippers (adjustable to 4 or 5 different lengths!) from before, it literally cost me nothing to cut my hair this time! (Unless you want to get anal and include the electic fee, whatever that turned out to be. Maybe a yen?)

Yes, the penny pinching continues!

I've been cutting my own hair for about three years now. I also use a clipper (without any attachment, so the end result is very close to shaved) and it takes me 5 minutes or so. I paid about 10 US dollars for the clipper at a TARGET store and it is the very same one I am using now. Before that, I used to go to those cheap haircut places like SUPERCUTS but although my haircut is extremely easy and takes very little time, they would still charge me 20 bucks. It was the best 9.95 I have ever spent.

Here's my haircut:

12mm on top
9mm on the sides
3mm on the bottom

12mm is the longest setting on the clippers, so that's where that comes from

Ashikaga, I never knew you cut your own hair, too! We should start up a community!

Although I think 5 minutes is pretty short for cutting your own hair! I think it took me something like 20 minutes before I was satisfied. Maybe that's just because it was my first time, but still...wow!

I just go from the bottom to the top all around my head. Very simple.

We should definitely start up a community. Then, we can talk about saving the hair clippings until you have enough to stuff a pillow, how to sterilize the clipper before you do your head after you have trimmed your bikini line.... ya know, stuff like that.

Isn't nice to save that money? I always cut my own hair. But then, my haircut is just "as short as possible." Nothing special and easy. And cheap. It's the way to go, man.

Boy, the way you're saving, you'll be a millionaire by the time I get back!

I have not cut my hair within a year and it looks just fine. I don't have the money to get it cut.

J44xm, I have to say that you're right. It is nice to save money on cutting hair, mostly because it's one of those things that no matter how many times you cut your hair, you have to do it again eventually.

Gackt21, you must have pretty long hair by now!
