Thanks I'll do that this morning.I don't understand what you mean by this. At any rate, if you try to translate Japanese text which has parts of it converted from kanji to hiragana, you are likely to get a garbled mess.
Try parsing that phrase in this way:
米(こめ) を ふかす とき、 でてくる じょう気 の こと
To correctly interpret the text meaning, another thing you could try is to convert the ENTIRE phrase into hiragana, type it all at once into a browser or word processor, and let that software suggest the most likely kanji.
