Hi, an oldie from London looking for some help with translation and also hoping to visit Japan before I kick the bucket

Hi Bob ! Always nice to see other senior citizens here , welcome. Hope you make it to Japan , I was there 46 years ago and still miss it. Because of the time difference and member's busy schedules , it sometimes takes a day or two to get answers to your posts.

Thanks, yes I know all about time differences, used to work as an International Operator before Direct dialling came in nearly 40 years ago, so dealt with all the countries that didn't have French as their 1st/2nd language. Tokyo always spoke English. I'm in no real rush, just hoping that someone can help

Welcome! I used to work as an international operator in 1995 at the Glasgow office. Seemed to spend the entire summer connecting Italian girls called Chiara to their mothers.

Howdy.
If it's text you can copy & paste, I'll give a go at translation, if it's in printed Japanese. Probably others stronger than me might also do so.
If its audio, I couldn't do well because my listening/speaking Japanese is where I'm weak.

Thanks, I left in August 1982, I took the redundancy they were offering out due to them not needing as many operators on the new Computerised desks they were installing in Mondial House (now torn down). I was actually on the Radio Link to St.Helena which had a radio link to Falklands on the day it kicked off down there, lost the link of course, it was needed by the Ministry.

No problem but thanks anyway, I posted in Translations and it looks like I didn't need to worry as the translation I was given which I have now found out is in Katakana and not Kanji was correct, it was needed to hide a person's name in plain sight on a tattoo so that my friends who do not speak anything but English and maybe a couple of European languages, would not know what it said, except myself and the young lady who will be a friend for as long as I live.
