I took book one a while ago, but much of it slipped away from me, as I found out by learning from book 2 of this course. So I'm going back to book one for a review and learn what I didn't quite grasp the first time around. I had to take a qualification exam to enter book 2, and I passed that exam, but after the 5th lesson in book two, the instruction and exercises are a bit over my understanding. So I will began here with Book one, Lesson one. I will post the pages of the book as I do each lesson. Whether I'll be able to join the Book ONE I don't know. Either way, I'll still continue to go to class.

Book One, Lesson One
Here is the lesson material.

My only question on this lesson is: ja arimasen means Am not.

The lesson has a small volcabulary and I'll practice it using the dialogue structure given in my next post here, using what kotoba I know.

Examples for lesson one.
はじめまして、Pete です。
アメリカ から きました
どうぞよろしく

Pete

That's about it. I understand lesson one. Any mistakes here, let me know.

Move on to lesson 2 now.

So the above is all OK?

Yes. But don't you think that わたしのめがねです just stands out like a sore thumb being there for no apparent reason?

The lesson is covering じゃありません , which is the negative of です.

Why do you think the わたしのめがねです is there? Don't you think maybe you were supposed to do something with it? Like change it to negative maybe?

EDIT

Never mind. I thought that was from your text. I hadn't looked at the text when I wrote that. Looking at those pictures in safari on an iPad is a real PITA. Could you try selecting the option for showing files as full images next time instead of having them be attachments, please? I think that would help.

OK
Example: watashi no megane ja arimasen.

I'll do the full image next time. Thanks for telling me.
