Not yet! Based on what Veronicakris said I think they will email me tomorrow. They did send us an email regarding the dormitory application today already however. Hope we all get good news soon this week.

Well, they sent us an email regarding the dormitory information in the end of June already, so I don't think it can be seen as any confirmation And it seems that I was mistaken about receiving any email concerning MEXT results unfortunately. I am still waiting and waiting, but we're waiting together so that is all ok, haha! Ahhh, this feeling is awful. As Japan is 8 hours ahead, the first thing I do in the morning with my sleepy eyes is to check my email (followed by disappointment because I still haven't received anything haha). But I remember you saying that you would have to wait for post by air, because your uni wouldn't let you know via email? Am I mistaken?

Sosei ryo is also close to campus. But unfortunately we can only occupy the room on october 1st
Do you have any idea about the accommodation until then? I may choose that too if I can get some idea about the accommodation. The orientation goes in September 30th, right? So I guess we need to be in Sapporo before then.

My friend used to live in Kita 23. She said it goes around 25,000 yen for winter (if I remember correctly) for the total fee (including the basic fee,water, gas and all). But Kita 23 use shared system for water,gas,etc. I still don't know much about individual contract.

You may book a hotel/room accommodation first so you can have place to stay if your pre-selected dormitory won't be available yet upon your arrival. So you may want to book an accommodation in the nearest hotel in your University for day or two

Everything will be take cared of by MEXT. The travel agency they'd be choosing would be the one to send you your flight details. Based on forums and blogs I've read they usually send it week before your flight. So yeah.

This is Leez from Philippines. I'm a recipient of MEXT e3 offered by Hokudai. Now, I am also thinking of which dormitory to choose and my first priority is Kita 8 as well. However, I do not know how much will be the additional expenses since we will be the one paying for other bills.

Regarding your concern about the MEXT flight, as I remember correctly from their previous email, they will book our flights around August. Also, they will pay for the flight fees from your country to Japan only. This part actually i could not understand well. Maybe they will not pay for any connecting flights.

I'm glad to meet fellow MEXT e3 applicants here! Let's exchange more info and get to know each other if that's okay with you. I'm a little bit anxious about this journey.

I'm a MEXT e3 applicant, too! Nice to meet you
I am also thinking about Kita 8 as my dorm in HU. My friend says that if you are on a budget, Sosei-ryo is preferrable and it is near malls and convenient store. However, the building is relatively old. In case of Kita 8, it's the next option in terms of the distance to the Engg department. However, the price is more expensive because it's a new building. ^^

Has anyone got news from MEXT? I was recommended by Nagoya university for enrollment of this October however it's little bit strange since the Administration Dept told me that result will only be out until Mid August.
Hmmm... Not sure of which category I'm being recommend.

Hello Insh and Leeze, I applied in Osaka University under Graduate school of Engineering, department of Biotechnology. Still got no update. Will probably have to wait till end of July. The assistant of my sensei only asked me to which airport I prefer to depart and land.
I really hope they'd inform us asap.

Hello everyone. I've also been nominated for a MEXT scholarship through university recommendation. The Graduate Program in Sustainability Science-Global Leadership Initiative (GPSS-GLI) in the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences (GSFS), and the International Liaison Office (ILO), of the University of Tokyo nominated me.

Yesterday, I got an email from GSFS and ILO that they are already preparing and will send a package with visa information for and to me. Perhaps, this is an indication that my nomination has been successful. To other Todai MEXT scholarship nominees out there, is this the same for you as well? Have you been contacted regarding a package with visa information being prepared and to be sent to you by your respective graduate school?
