Monbukagakusho Undergraduate 2015

Congratulations you two! That's great news! :D

If I get through, I'm pretty sure I'll wanna stay there even after graduation :3
As for your other questions, I don't really know >.<

Man,9 years is quite a long time ×_× but congrats on being the first after such a long time! ^^

121 sounds scary..they didn't mention about how many will be selected in Europe by any chance, did they? ^^;

Social science students only take math A~

Good luck there yau! ^^

Normally,no, it's not necessary but if it's written on the site you should ask the embassy to be sure~ ^^

Thank you, Squishy! I'll try to contact the embassy.
But I've got other questions!
I was reading about the different types of scholarships and I swear I read somewhere that the "Specialized training college" scholarship is just for developing countries, but right now I'm checking the mext website and it doesn't mention it. Can anybody confirm? Also, the exam is different right?
I'm really curious about the exam. Do they just judge you for the result of it? Do your high school grades affect the final result?

Sorry for all the questions, but I want to understand well before I try to do anything. I hope my post isn't too annoying.

Hmm,I really don't know..
Yeah, I think it is different but same subjects
The result of the exam is said to matter a lot more than your grades. The exam and interview actually xD
I'm sure the high school grades matter to some extent but they're just not the most important thing~

Ask away! It's better to know what you're signing up for than to just apply without knowing what's going on xD

Also guys, I just got my email yesterday and was rejected~
Good luck to those still waiting! Seeing how early the results came out this year, you guys shouldn't have to wait much longer~
Hope I can meet you guys in 2016 instead ^^

Can anybody here is able to mail me a PDFs named "learning 300 kanji through stories " ?
It will help me to tackle the MEXT Japanese questions too.
Or you can also mail similar books to learn Japanese quickly and score some marks in that.
Please search and mail the PDFs if you get :)

Squishy, sorry to hear that...
But don't give up to try next year and I hope to see you in 2016 as well ^^

Hai! ^^
Now we have a better idea of what to to expect too so we can use that to our advantage :3

Hi, everyone!
You've probably already noticed that I applied for the scholarship and was lucky enough to get it. Though, I've been having lots of doubts lately, so I decided to ask you, guys.
At the time I applied I was absolutely sure that if I passed I would be the happiest person in the whole world and go to Japan as soon as it was allowed. But now... I am not sure at all. Now my fiance doesn't want to go with me (he certainly can do it, he has a degree in japanese studies); he says it would be way better for me to stay here, in Russia, as I am studying in quite a prestigious university (MGIMO) which gives both of us all chances to go to Japan as diplomats when I graduate. And in Japan, he says, it would be very difficult for a foreigner (especially a woman) to pursue a high-profile career even after graduating from such university as Todai. What is more, it seems almost impossible for me to have children in Japan, and I really want to have a family in the future. I don't know, maybe he's right, but it's been my dream for years. And I would also feel very guilty for rejecting the chance so many people around the wourld dream about...
What do you think?

Take that chance!
But are you going to stay in Japan permanently after studying there?

Thanks for answering, Mikyo!
I'm not really sure about whether I'll stay or not. I guess I'll go to a MNC like Mitsui and then decide whether to go to its subsidiary in Russia (or elsewhere) or to stay in Japan. Though, I don't think I'll spend my whole life in Japan. I know the country (and its language, of course) throughout, having been studying it for almost 6 years now, so I know that the Japanese society isn't welcoming to foreighers.

If you don't intend to stay in Japan after graduation, you can come back to Russia with your fiance. Ask him to wait for you.
It's a really good chance, you shouldn't miss it.
I don't know how it is in your country, but in my country students studying abroad often have a good career opportunity after they return. So if I were you, I would follow my dream.

Hi there!

Hi everyone, I've been following this thread for quite awhile now since I'm going to apply next year, to get better idea how everything works. My average for this year in high school (Lithuania, Eastern Europe) is 7.8~/10 , previous 7.5/10 and next hopefully will be the best, but I'm still really nervous since it could be a lot better ^^. Anyway if any of you have any helpful information (papers etc.) please them to me. I'll be really grateful. If you have any other tips I'd appriciate them too

Hi, thank you so much you all for this helpful thread!

Can anyone send me the past papers too?

Past Papers

I found papers for 2011 and 2012 so if anyone's interested, message me and I'll be happy to help :)

Wardoosh From what I've read, that seems to be the case. But the syllabus is so vague imo...
The stuff we have to study is alittle beyond the A level stuff I've seen in textbooks :\

Hey keshant! I am applying for MEXT 2016, can you please send me the past papers also?

Hi keshant! would you mind to send me the MEXT past year papers too?

Thank you so much and have a nice day ahead!

Hi everyone. I'm Debbie. I will be sitting for the MEXT scholarship examination few more weeks later. I thought that the past year questions might help me to prepare myself for the examination. I have tried to click on the links which contains the past year questions from year 2007 to year 2009 that you have provided,ドメインパーキング . However, the page says 'file not found'. Therefore, I failed to access the questions. Do you mind to share the past year questions, which you have, with me and help me?

It would be nice to receive help from you. I really appreciate your help. Thank you in advance and good luck to you in your life. =)

Hello! I'm also planning to apply for the scholarship this year! I would love to have the documents as well :)

Also, I heard that for Social Sciences and Humanities, one would have to score really well in the Japanese test...?
