Monbukagakusho Undergraduate 2015

Hi, I'm from Ukraine . this year mathematics B was hard as hell and as fo me it is impossible to complete this test with undergraduate knowledge of it ( and I'm really good at mathematics and could't make it, 2010 year test wasn't SO hard), also chemistry test contained a lot of questions about organic chemistry ( for example 2010 test had only 1 or 2 questions about it). Why the difficult level was so raised this year? It's just unfair, mathematics A was MUCH, MUCH easier (from the words of applicants) than B. :(

Ahhh I'm kinda freaking out for next year as I'm graduating then and not too sure where I want to go with life. So a few questions about the scholarship itself..

Currently I'm thinking a law degree as a post grad in Australia (I want to work here) and try and do an undergrad through MEXT.

I want to do Social Sciences and Humanities A and I don't know what major!

I was personally thinking of Philosophy or Psychology because they're good undergrad majors for Law. Sociology seems like the most viable option of the application. I'm not sure about Law or Politics as I'll probably have to relearn in order to qualify in Australia.

Can anybody recommend me a popular major in that 'area' or some descriptions of the ones listed (can the embassy give me info on that?)?

I kinda have a bias for big universities such as Tokyo ^.^;; - what are the chances in getting in if I don't do direct placement?

@Harbinger, I absolutely agree with u.... It WAS very hard ... but isn't it the same for everybody....
so I think if your math is good u won't have any problems :D :D :D

Ahhh, right... my interview is on July 17th :p

Hello everyone!!!
This year I'm applying for the Scholarship for 2015 and I have some questions, hope someone can help me.
First of all, if I'm applying for Medicine is it necessary to speak Japanese? It is mathematics, chemistry, biology, English and Japanese for me right?
Are the certificate of passage of university entrance qualification examination and the certificate of enrollment needed just for those who have already been accepted in a Japanese University?
My teacher can't write in english so what am I supposed to do if I can't open the envelope?
Thanks in advance!!

For Medicine it is not mandatory that you speak Japanese. I don't even think it is mandatory for anything unless it's social sciences I guess. Some places say you need Japanese for social sciences but anyway I got off topic. And yes, you take those 5 exams. And those items are not needed I think. You're doing undergraduate and are not doing direct placement so I don't see why you would need them because you have prep year.

And I'm not too sure about the envelope thing. I would say just tell your embassy about it~

The certificate of passage of university entrance qualification examination and the certificate of enrollment are only for those who have enrolled a university (in their countries). If you have just graduated from high school and haven't enrolled any university, you don't need to submit these papers.

Hey guys, I just finished the exams a week ago.

There has 40 around this year I guess.@@

I just took 3 subjects. I think those were not too hard for undergraduate but I did it bad though. :(

And the embassy said that they will send the email to inform us about the result for a week whether have the chance to interview or not.

It's almost one week and I have not receive the email yet!

Hope I have no need to try it next year.

Everyone seems like they get their emails of when the exams and interviews are within a week but my consulate is taking sooo much longer xD It's been a week and 2 days almost haha. I hope you don't have to try again next year though. The MEXT process is super annoying. Just be patient for the email. I'm hoping I get the email tomorrow ^^

I got the email. I need to try this next year. :(

Hope you guys good luck.

Hello everyone!! 🙂
This is the first time I write on the forum, but I've reading you for 2 weeks or so. :)
Anyway, I took the exam on Saturday and they called me yesterday. They said I can do the interview!! *-*
So I was wondering what kind of questions they made to those who already had the interview.
Even if the questions are different for each country it would be very helpful if you told me, regardless of your country.
By the way, I applied for Education.
Thank you. :)

Hello! thanks for answering. Currently I am studying Medicine here, it is my first year. So should I attach the certificate of enrollment and the other one?
Does anyone know how hard is maths for my field?

Hey everyone I'm from Pakistan. My MEXT test was on july 17th. the test was pretty hard but anyways I got selected for the interview which was on the same day, they asked qs. like why do you want to go there and tell us about your family and stuff. only 5 out of 13 students got in for the interview. The Embassy Lady said that they would e-mail me in the next week or so. Does anyone here knows how many students are selected from each country?

it really depends. For example only 2 people got recommended here while in some countries over 30 people get recommended.

hey guys :D

I've passed the interview...!! :D :D

but they say that it's still possible not to get scholarship .....! :(

I messed up my last term exams at school do you think that it's bad for me... Is it possible that they reject me because of that ???
AAAh ... I'm really worried...:((

Congrats! :D
From what I've understood,at this point just our exam scores and interview really matter..and I hope that's the case cause I have the worst grades possible xD

really ????
u think so???? !!! :D :D

btw, do u you know how many applicants they want for undergrad in ur country ?????

Well that's what I've understood ^^

Ah,well it's actually not necessary for them to take someone from any country..However they've only taken on undergraduate ever,in 2013..Idk what passing rate we might have.. ^^;

Hello everyone!!!!! So I just got the e-mail telling me that I must take the tests for the scholarship!!! I'm excited but also freaking out. Does anyone know how hard is Math(B)?
