My friend posted this on facebook. I don't get what hes trying to say is かい here か as well. It uses the "if" conjugation, so what is he saying

If I think its cold, will it snow? lol ( Just my guess, this seems weird to say though)

たら conditinal doesn't always mean "if". It can refer to a fact, too. In that sentence, 寒いと思った is a fact and 雪 is the cause of it.
かい (or かよ) shows the writer's faint surprise here.

付き合ってなんかしないで doesn't make sense unless there is a pause between て and な, just like 付き合って、なんかしないで. 付き合ってなんか（い）ないぜ, maybe?

I don't know the context exactly, but it seems "I can't believe that."

What is the first sentence saying? She see's everything how it really is?

If that's what you mean by opposite, then yes. Sentence 2 counters the statement in Sentence 1.


言わざる is simply an older way of saying 言わない. Most people don't use it nowadays though.

ざる is similar to ない in meaning, and it does have a classical flavoring. It is a bit different, though, other than just that. It's an attributive. In fact, it's the attributive version of ず. What that means is that it sticks to and modifies a noun or noun phrase, so you couldn't, say, end a sentence with it. Also, it seems to be able to be used like a noun in its own right (probably through omission of the head noun, which I would assume would be こと*) in the set expression ～ざるを得ない, which I believe is JLPT 2 grammar. Well, I think it would have been. I don't know what the levels are nowadays.

*This type of omission seems to be fairly common in Classical Japanese, as you can say 故きを温ねて新しきを知る (ふるきを たずねて あたらしきを しる), for instance. This is a set expression, actually. Anyway, 古き and 新しき are attributive forms of 古し and 新し, respectively, which means they should be stuck to some noun, but those nouns have been omitted. By the way, the negative attributives would be 古からざる(物) and 新しからざる(物) , respectively.

Interesting... and surprising. Where does the 逆接 sense come in with just 見えて? This is starting to sound like Chinese, where two clauses will be stuck together and the only thing indicating that they're opposed is the actual content of each of them. I wish I had an example now.

Then, the answer is no. Any nominalizer is not required for a noun clause in Classical Japanese, thus, it's not omission.

舐め切って is correct. 切って is a subsidiary verb, so hiragana きって is more common, though. In this case, ～きる means "to do completely/thoroughly". You would be able to find 舐める in your dictionary.

よっぽど[yoppodo], not よつぽど[yotsupodo], probably? (The second hiragana is smaller than the others.)

That's a colloquial form of よほど. The meaning is different depending of the context, but most likely "very/quite".

し is used to list actions like ～たり.

起こし is the -masu stem of a transitive verb 起こす, not an intransitive 起きる, thus, the subject of it is also his sister. (BTW, it' not a conditional.)
