Terms like "female empowerment" make me cringe. Not because I want to keep women down, but because it assumes that women in traditional roles have no power and no worth, and that is a giant steaming load of bull.
I have seen plenty of homemakers/housewives who were the REAL head of the family, and they made things happen. They called plenty of shots. They held families together. They created stability in their little parts of the world, altogether, made society stable.
Whether career woman, female CEO, female factory worker or homemaker/housewife, they all have power and worth to the same degree as men, if they really want it. But it just so happens that most females don't really want it, and that's fine. The 70 percent or so females who tend to more traditional roles should roll with that, and feel valuable and proud. And the 30 percent who want to be in politics or become captains of industry should not feel any hindrance just for being female.
But I despise these neo-feminist and frankly feminazi attempts to turn the majority of women into something they don't really want to be or don't have the proper skill sets or mind set for. I don't deny there is a glass ceiling, but its not just men keeping women down. Its also just the fact of being female with a female mindset that keeps women down.
It has to be accepted that different women are different and they need to be treated as such, and respected for their skills and how they apply them,and not have people try to pigeon-hole them in a way that makes it seem they are all the same. That said, the majority seem to be designed for traditional roles. Its sad the minority who aren't have gained so much influence as to dissuade the majority from the roles that would be most fulfilling for them.
I firmly believe that most women would love to be housewives and mothers. But modern education tries to steer them away from that, making they themselves think they actually would not like to be mothers and housewives at all. Of course women should be allowed to branch out, but brainwashing them against traditional roles and all the truly feminine power that comes with it is silly, wrong-headed and short-sighted. And it plays a role in declining birthrates in so called "first world" societies, although there are other factors.
