In addition to Mike-san's, "君がどんな思いで、あんなことをしたのか" is the object of 忘れてしまった. Furthermore, since は covers the whole sentence, the subject of 忘れてしまった is 俺, and not 君.Hello. I'm having some problems with this sentence.
"あのころの俺はとても弱くて無知だったから
君がどんな思いで、あんなことをしたのかさえ忘れてしまった"
This is as far as I've gotten with it, but I'm not sure after that: "At that time, I was very weak and naïve"
With 君がどんな思いで, my eyes automatically went to the どんな, is the speaker asking if the person he's speaking about thought he was weak/ignorant?
I'm a bit lost with かさえ, is it supposed to be "のか" and "さえ忘" or "かさえ忘"? I can't find anything for かさえ that makes sense.
Is あんなことをしたのかさえ忘れてしまった supposed to be something along the lines of "you've even forgotten those things that I did"?
どんな思いで is used as どういう気持ちで/どう思いながら "in what feeling (you had)". The speaker is not asking it here. He already know how the person felt when s/he did such a thing.
