Hello!
I'm Carolina, from Portugal, I'm a High School student (12th grade) and within one year I intend to go to college and graduate in Oriental languages and cultures, where I will learn Japanese and Mandarin.

Other than portuguese, I can speak english and spanish fluently, and I'm learning by myself japanese. I've always been good in languages, at least since I started playing videogames, where I got a lot of english vocabulary.

I'm interested in Japanese history, language and culture, I find all that fascinating.

I want to go to Japan within a few years, first to do my masters degree and then to live, work, etc.

I started watching dorama (Hana Kimi) and J-league recently, and I love it! I like to play Nintendo DS and PSP, and Nintendo Wii's Wii sports.

Nice to see another portuguese on this forums. It is something really rare.

If you really want to learn Japanese, I would advice you to take some classes (although it is not that urgent since you're planning to graduate on that field). But more on that later.

For now, just welcome. Hope you'll stick around.

And yeah, I'll graduate in Japanese hopefully, just don't know which university to go, I might go to Braga, since I'm from Ovar, Aveiro and the other Univ. that offers a course in oriental languages is in Lisbon, but still don't know.

Maybe the education system is different in your country but there's something that I don't understand. You're 16 years old and already thinking about which University you will go? I'm a little bit confused because in my country we attend University at the age of maybe 19-20 years old.

My native language is French and I suppose that your tongue language is not English, right? Is English a common language in Portugal?

Yup, the education here is diferent, here we enter school at the age of 6 (or almost doing 6), study 12 years and go to University. I just finished the 11th year, and there's one more year of High School until college.
Here in Portugal have have some courses, but College ones (for real, intense) only two.
My native language is portuguese. I'm learning spanish at school, and I had french for 3 year, but I forgot pretty much everything, I was the best of my class ;___;, now I can only say the vert "etre" and some other things.

I started school with 5 years, but soon after it started I made 6, and do it happens nowadays. I'll enter 12th grade with 16 and will make 17 one month later.
