Some background info.
My girlfriend works hard in school. She is obscenely studious, to the extent that she'll spend 6 hours on a single minor assignment (mind you, we're only in high school). She'll dedicate herself to studying till 1 AM every day and allow herself only get 5 hours of sleep. I don't put as much effort and I find that I do equally as well as her (or in some cases, better) in my courses.
So here's the dilemma.
There's no time for me. I've got hours to waste and she's got hours spent studying or doing homework. Now I know to respect the pace at which she works, and to prioritize academics over our relationship, but the usual human characteristic of loneliness often settles in. I've learned to withstand this for a while, but the feelings of gradual separation increase over time, which leaves me unsettled in the long run. I also tend to refrain from commenting on her work habits due to the fact that I highly respect them, and also because, in a high school relationship, I feel that I really don't have any right to interfere in the way which she manages her life. We don't go out every month even; she'll spend any holidays or breaks studying. Because of her work habits, my relationship with her is quite stagnant and uneventful; hence the title of this topic.
I had waited for her on MSN earlier today, in hopes of talking to her, but when she signed in, she immediately set her status to "Busy", and with what I've told you, its easy to come to the conclusion that she set herself to studying or doing some kind of homework. I waited for her status to change, but with no luck. 4 or 5 hours later, she departs with a small "good night", with almost no word to me. I did not attempt a conversation because I respect her habit of studying. I had waited 5 hours for a conversation. One time, I had waited 16 hours. This is what set me off to ask for some advice.
Incidentally, she seems indifferent to the fact that we spend a scarce amount of time together. This by itself is quite unnerving.
I'm lost as what to do. Because we both know, prioritize academics over our relationship, I really can't say anything. But the fact that I'm being oft ignored, sort of feels that her promise of "committing to the relationship" feels unfulfilled.
