Off Topic-From "Would You Rather be Japanese or American?"

Illegal alien population aggravate situations in America,it's a fact not scapegoating.

Helping Mexico at the expense of America is insanity.

It wouldn't be helping Mexico at the expense of America, because if there were more Mexicans that were actually staying legally in the country then they'd be able to get better health insurance and so not cause so much of a burden on the health services (because apparently statistically its those who are uninsured that are most likely to leave bad health problems until the last minute until they are very expensive and difficult to treat etc). Also by making it easier for Mexicans to become citizens of America, you can then tax these people properly. These people are only a drain on the health services and such like because they are illegal- if you give them less reason to come over to this country, and you make it easier for them to come over legally if they do want to come over to America, then you will help solve a lot of the problems surrounding illegal immigration.

However, since the boarders are wide open and they are free to come here, albiet illegally, and no one will send them back home, and they are wanted, who could blame them? I would if I were them and needed to feed my family back home. The average illegal can make more in one year here (even at low wages) than he could make in 3 or 4 years back home.

But if an American raises a hand of protest against this and voices his/her opinion they are branded as racist pigs. The average american is in a no-win situation here and his lifestyle has no where to go but down!

Does anyone still think America is the land of gold? Only if you're from a third world country it is. If you are from the US you will soon find what it's like to live as those in the second world lives as the country is being taken down a notch. All of it planned.

Well its all very sad with all these problems that you state, but you gotta admit- if it there weren't American's employing this cheap foreign labor, then you wouldn't have this problem in the first place. No one can really blame the Mexicans taking advantage of opportunities your country makes for them. You American's don't care anymore for the Mexicans than what they do for you- they're just trying to support their own families just as much as people like that American lawn mower guy is, and to be honest, most of us would do the same as them if we were in their situation.

I disagree with people PC brigade of people who practically stone anyone who says anything negative about another race. Its not about racism, its about facing up to reality and facts and racism has nothing to do with it. Its kinda crazy, both prejudice and political correctness are hampering real progress in America.

There are only so many poor people you can let in a country. The US has enough already. The poor don't get taxed, they don't have enough money. These are uneducated people that will be a drain regardless. It is bringing down the current citizens for potential citizens....not a good policy. You can blame people for breaking the law. Breaking the law is just that, it is criminal. Let's remember these illegals are CRIMINALS willing to break the law to get ahead. So make them citizens, so then when they want more they can break the laws yet again. Obviously the laws then don't need to be followed! Jeez.....

OK, here are 14 points, with links, as to why illegals are killing the USA all at the behest, and with the approval of, the US Government. Why, I ask you, is this allowed unless there was some underlying agenda? It is probably worse here than you are reading in your own controlled media, just as we in the US do not hear of the troubles in Europe or the UK which are probably similar from what I am reading.

And for those that think I am a "racist pig" I tell you here and now that I do not have a racist bone in my body. After living in Japan for many a year I understand discrimination and racism all too well. (one can not understand racism and discrimination unless one has experienced it first hand!) I just want the laws of the USA enforced and followed much the same way my wife followed the laws in order to get her legal visa to enter this country and I followed JApan's laws to live and work there legally!

This, IMO, is a designed plan to bring the wages of the US middle class down and to eventually do away with the middle class who built this country. Now that cheaper labor has been found and is being exploited, there is no longer a need for the American middle class.

Thus the no enforcement immigration laws, the lowering of wages, the housing and debt crisis - all designed to bring the middle class to their knees begging for a solution, which will be glady provided if you agree to give up more of your freedoms and rights for which the average ignorant American will gladly do. Just watch.

Already more than 1 million people have lost their homes and it is forcasted that 2 - 3million more will lose their homes in the next two years! And they still have to pay that money back with the revised bankruptcy laws! Walk away from your home and it is considered income to you in which you must pay the taxes or face the consequences! But if Bear Sterns goes belly-up the government steps in to aid them. They help their own and the hell with everone else!

Planned? You bet it it is. And with what is presently going on in the USA, I think I'd rather be Japanese. So I now vote for Japanese as, in Japan, regardless of what crisis occurs, they will always stick together and help one another survive. They will not feed on one another. I fear for the future of America as I believe one will have to fight in the not too distant future for their very survival and the survival of their family. Instead of car-jackings for your car, it will be for your gasoline! The have-nots will steal and kill, if need be, from the haves in order to survive. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

If I were living in Japan at the present and knew what I know now, I would not even think of returning to the US!

Exactly, how can anyone trust " those " who sold out own people for profits ( a characteristic of Banana Repblic 😌 ).

Hear you,I wish could live elsewhere in Scandinivia.😌

Where did the Original thread go? I can't seem to find it.

Also Pachipro, you should actually look into those figures... Snopes.com is a good source and so is factcheck.org. They seem inflated.

And isn't that what we spend in Iraq in a week?

It would seem to me that if this was a priority with the GOP, they would have done something by now

I hate to sound overly weeaboo-ish, but I'd much rather live in Japan right now.

Seems like people working in Japan now are telling me not to be against working in America. However, what they don't seem to realize is the America they lived in before they left for Japan was a much different (i.e. better) place than it is now. You really have to live in a place where the economy is in a toilet, everything is being outsourced, and college graduates are working at McDonald's to know it.

Before 2001 though, I probably would have been fine with either. But for now, I want to try Japan for a few years, perhaps live the rest of my life there if the grass really is greener.

I'd rather be Japanese than American. Bush changed the face of USA around the world because of Iraq war and many other things. I'm a little bit sick of American culture because it gets too much important around the world. I'd rather like to speak Japanese and to listen to Japanese music than listening music from artists who got rich so fast because of star system and they have no talent. Their voice is modified by computer and what we hear on CD is completly different from live shows.
I recently remarked that USA think they are the savers of the world. They think they can judge other countries but in their own country the death penality is legal. I have nothing against death penality but the point is America shoudn't judge other countries by criticizing the country laws when the human rights are not completely respected in some states of US such as Texas where death penality is legal. A lot of people are killed because of this death penality but a lot of errors are maken.
USA is far away from a perfect country. During OG, there were a lot of discussion about the fact that it was in China. USA criticized China about human rights but... the US president claimed that there were nuclear weapons in Iraq and they also claimed that Al Qaeda is based in so US sent military troops in Iraq and they noticed that there were no any nuclear weapon in that country. They stay in Iraq because they want to combat terrorism but terrorists are everywhere and they cannot combat what they claim to be terrorism only by attacking Iraq. This war is the most expensive war ever of history. The United States of America spend maybe 300 billion dollars in that war and at the same time hundreeds of millions of people are poor around the world and cannot eat for dinner because they don't have food to cook. When a hurricane hits the country, the gouvernment takes time before reacting and repairing material damages.
In conclusion, I'd rather be Japanese instead of being American. I'm not against USA. I'm planning to get to NYC at the end of the year and it's gonna be very interesting. American people are really nice but I wouldn't like to be American because I would have a shame for my gouvernment.

Have you really listen to Japanese pop music??? 😊

Does it really do us any good to compare passports like they're trading cards? As if life is supposed to be so much better because you're from one 1st-world nation over another. I wish I were Finnish so I could get a free college education, I wish I were French so I could get socialized health care. I wish I were Korean because I love kimchi. Come on now.

Yan, I don't know where to begin with your statements. I'll just ask that you refrain from referring to the American population as if it's an individual, or that you have some sort of insight into the collective American psyche. I'd also like to point out that you can speak Japanese or listen to Japanese music wherever you are, regardless of your nationality. I don't understand why people are so eager to pretend they're Japanese or any other nationality just because they like a couple social programs, or even more appalling, aspects of popular culture.

I would stay American and just learn Japanese.

Like I am right now.

We all think of just the Mexicans comming into the USA but it is more than that. Our government thinks we can pay for everyones problems outside of the USA but here is the problem. The government is forgeting us. Us the americans who can barley put food on the table, have to pay to go to school because my family is not a minority, and then try to survive on $11.00 an hour. This is our only income, after my husband died, i am the only survivor, no family around and then i have to pay the mortgage, utililites, car payment, food and gas and more.... Try that!!! Just America right!
