I got this idea from another thread and thought it might be fun to experiment a little. The idea is that you have to write "I love you" in your own language and lets see how many languages we can get.

It's not my native language 😌 but in Hungarian it's szeretlek. :p
In French it's je t'aime.
that's all I know...

😍nakupenda😍

what a lovely thread this is! Rather than my own language, this is Swahili, which my Mother grew up using day-to-day, as well as English, and which i'm now learing (a little of).

I think it has the loveliest sound :)

thumko prem karta hun is a somewhat informal way of saying 'I love you.'

Hmmm, here's an idea... how about letting the native English speakers go to the website I found and pick a language that intrigues them instead. I noticed that Elven and Vulcan were some of the choices.... that could make things a little more interesting...:p

Aww why'd you have to ruin the fun? I was just tyring to be cute :). Ok, well here's "Amharic" -- Afekrishalehou

Ya polubeel s'tebya(Russian, after anjusan's idea)

Haha although good ideas the idea was to use your native language (or one you could speak like a native E.G. your parents are swedish). that way we could see how many nationals we had here. Of course i could add Ai shite ru many on here could but it would be better if a native came and said it ;o)

PS half and half yours stands as no one used the english way of saying it haha. I left it on purpose from the original post. Yours too JimmySeal ^-^

A Japan forum needs Japanese, so it's:

Aishiteruyo. (My hubbie can't say this sober. He needs to be tipsy to say this to me! 😊)

When I was in the Philippines, I learned this phrase, which I found very romantic:

Mahal kita. (You are dear to me)

👍

Haha sounds cute. I know a Japanese man who says "aishiteruyo" to everyone when hes drink ^-^

EDIT: Removed the entire list of I love you in pretty much every language in the world. Left just the languages that I actually knew "I love you" in.

Chinese - Wo Ai Ni
Greek - S'Agapo
Italian - Ti amo
Korean - Sarang Heyo
Latin - Te amo
Pig Latin - Iay ovlay ouyay
Spanish - Te quiero / Te amo

Wo ai ni. the words that inspired this thread haha. Thanks for the edit ^-^

A english friend of mine told me that whenever he listened to german songs he thought they were always about killing and he thought "Ich liebe dich" sounded like you wanted to stab someone =D

Chinese - Wo Ai Ni
Know the Chinese writing by any chance?

Greek - S'Agapo

ニ陳ー' ニ陳ソニ津?陳ソニ津屡津 = unconditional love.

ニ陳ー' ニ津θ津照津 = erotic love.

ニ陳ーニ陳ソ ニ津独津?津家津?津 = brotherly love.

Of course, this is Attic/Koine, I don't know if Doric or Ionic are different.

Latin - Te amo.
Correct. A+

Italian = Ti amo. I think somebody already posted it, though.

In my language(Bahasa Melayu/Malay), there are many variations. But I only list these:

Aku cinta padamu
Saya cintakan mu
etc...

In some cases, particularly young people or kids:
Saya sukakan awak (I like you)

In my dialect :P(Sarawakian dialect):
Kamek suka kitak. lol!

Any Sarawakian Malaysian will probably laugh at what I written there. Sometimes, the Sarawakian one sounds silly(depending on tone).
