I found this anti-Korean manga on the Japanese Amazon.com. From the number of reviews and customer ratings, it looks very popular.

Anti-Korea?
Anti-USA or Anti- china surely exist because they have big power.
However, there is no anti-Korea in Japan

Caster I "fixed" your reply here to Mahoujin Tsukai, this sounds so much nicer now.

I think it is a " dislike Korea" based on real-life

I don't agree with you 100% as many things Korean are well-liked and appreciated here in Japan. Let's start with food, actors, and actresses among a long list of other things as well.

If you separate North and South Korea then I would agree that there is more of a dislike for North Korea and many people having a genuine liking for South Korea.

I don't agree with you. And North or South is not so different for us.

So am I.
I think North and South Korea is both sides of the belt of mebius.
There are a lot of people who think that North and South Korea is a different country. Therefore, as a North Korea measures, the atmosphere which Japan hope to South Korea as mediator and an arbiter exists partially in Japan.
And a Japanese dignitary thinks so, too:(

Requesting the cooperation of the North Korea punishment to South Korea, it is like like consulting conjoined twin's fragment about euthanasia.

I think that the greater part of information leaks to the North Korea side by South though I dont say all.

In the future, what we should confirm will be recognition "North and South Korea is the same".

Kim Jong Il says that it boasted, "maneuvering to the south has already been completed".
North Korea is same race , that is, "Uri" for South Korea.
The fact mutually killed before is being deserted over there of a past memory with the flow at time.

According to their Values , now Gaining power in South Korea is,their peculiar brothers consideration is a sweet, suffocating and beautiful sentiment. It is "Uri" oneness that they are loved, and wants.
If near relatives commits the crime, they will plead and cover up for it without the hesitating.

Korea will cover up for North Korea by all means as far as it is a Korean that administer Korea and a saying nation even if North Korea will be a terrorist nation breaking international order.
Many people have already known it

It makes a mistake if North and South Korea is judged from the country title
and the alliance.
Even if worn clothes are different, their contents are the same Korean people.

A firm identity is thin in them.
Therefore, dependence on their blood is strong in above all because Besides, there is no dependence. .

We should know that if we are attacked by them from behind, it would be our mistakes more than them

I would hope that in the chance that relationships between Japan and North Korea could be improved, South Korea will help mediate.

I respect your point, but I can't entirely agree with it. And North or South is not so different for me.

That is probably because you can understand it from English and Japanese as well. I would be willing to bet that the "average" Japanese person would not recognize the countries names in English nor a direct translation to Japanese,
Kita Kankoku 北韓国 きたかんこく or Minami Kankoku、南韓国、みなみかんこく。

At a company that I used to work at it was made very clear to me that people from North Korea hated to be referred to as 韓国人、かんこくじん and made it a point to make sure that I "knew" to refer to them as Chousen jin, 朝鮮人 ちょうせんじん. To them, there is a huge difference.

I can understand why you would write what you did here. But I am pretty sure if you asked the average Japanese person if they knew the difference between, Chousen, 朝鮮 ちょうせん, or Kankoku, 韓国, かんこく

I would be willing to bet that without any doubts, the respondents would say that the two countries are very different, as night is today.

in japanese, kita-cyosen and minami-cyousen
So is in Taiwanese

I can never recall hearing South Korea refered to as minami chousen, even NHK doesn't use that.

And what difference does it make if Taiwan uses it or not, isn't this a discussion about Japan and Japanese "feelings" towards both Korea's?
I think you are missing the point entirely.

(Off Topic Here Sorry....)
Geez let's really mix it up here by telling we say North and South Korea in America and the majority of American's have no idea or would even understand Chosen or Kankoku at all.

[off-topic]
I believe the English word Korea was not derived from 韓国 but from 高麗 (kourai in Japanese pronunciation) which is an old name for the country on that peninsula. So I guess North Korea and South Korea would be Kita Kourai and Minami Kourai.

According to Wikipedia North Korea call themselves 朝鮮人民共和国 or 共和国 and call South Korea 南朝鮮 while South Korea call themselves 大韓民国 and for them Noth Korea is 北韓.

Both are the same cyosen people.
How can call them before ww2? ..... cyosen ppl

NHK use cyosen jinmin kyouwa koku

who nemed south or north?

You missed the point I think. First what they say in Taiwan has no part being in this discussion. I know that NHK doesnt call Korea that either.

Second the only reason I brought up the differences in "language" use was to make a point to Hanachan, who commented that Japanese "And North or South is not so different for us" , until she was correctly corrected by undrentide to change "us" to "me", which she did.

Japanese do not refer to Korea by North and South, that is from the West. Koreans call themselves something different, and Japanese refer to Korean's, for the matter of discussion here, North and South, as something totally different as well.

Caster My point is that the two Korea's are totally different, and are viewed differently by Japanese people as well. Would you agree with that? Are North and South Korea two different countries to you?

That's a fact, as you probably know it is not because of WWII but the Korean Conflict (War) that North and South came about. If my history memory is serving me right.😊

They are basically the same for me and some though Country, law, economy and etc. are different.

I do not know which country takes the other side in the future.

Are you saying that the people are the same? I don't think anyone here would argue with you about that.

Outside of that I can not see how anyone would even try to compare them the two countries systems are so different it would be similar to comparing apples to oranges which as you know is rather impossible to do.

Culturally I am betting that the two have drastically changed since they separated, but of course still have many similarities, yet are drawing further and further apart as time goes on.

I know their political system is different.
I meant... both North and South Korea are same in the point of "Anti-Japan".
I don't like people who burn the flag and pollute portraits of Emperor and PM.
I don't think that all of Korean is like. However, It's the result of "anti-Japan" education due to the policy. The compulsory education system that started in time of the Japan's rule contributes very much today, haha...
Do you like such neighbor countries?

only one thing I cant say they are still learning antiOOO from Textbook, history and Propagandas even in a school. they will be as a korean Identity

Hmm.. I'd say for the older crowd, yes in many cases. The younger people thus are more korean-friendly. It varies.

Enough old people who know the period of Japan rule don't hate Japan so much.
My father went to South Korea in 1970s. At that time, many Koreans remembered Japanese and they talked to my father in Japanese. The then President Park Chung-hee was criticised for his military regime, but he was the one who revived South Korea after Korean War and brought up economy.
My father said, the relationship between Japan and Korea was better than today. South Korean's enemy was a communist at that time, not Japanese.
