After reading this forum once in a while through a years time
I am going to be going to japan next year. You guys think a couple weeks is a good enough time?

See if i truely like the country or not...How should i view the country? I have a friend going to college over there. She could show me on her days off. But most of the time she will be studying.

How should i go through?? :?

Well if ya can get all the money together for it then sure a enough. Are you going there for sight-see-ing and so fourth ? Go thier with an open mind, alot of people some times have high expectations and some times are dissapointed. But if you just go thier you'll have a great time as i did, it's a experience of a life time that i found.

View it with an open mind. Just because things are different doesnt always make it better or worse. Just enjoy yourself and travel around and get a feel for things 👍

the politeness and courtesy of the japanese are how i act daily. I bow more then i hand shake (which is weird, but i grown a habbit of doing that). So, we will see if my dreams and visions of japan are real or fake.

The best thing to do is get rid of your preconceived notions of Japan. Even if you watch the news and have watched the doramas and know of people living there, they are a pale shadow of what life is really like living there. Sight seeing and touring is only going to show you the highlights, and two weeks (or however long you end up staying there) will only give you the tip of the iceberg on Japan.
Only when you live there for a couple of years will you really see if your current views of Japan are real or not. Also remember that life in college in any country is a world unto itself...the reality of living in Japan is when you are working there....then you really have to see how life really is like living in what is heaven for some and a hell to others :?
Also, you will have to find out for yourself what it is like for you in Japan. Nobody, least of me (who knows nothing :D ), can adequately explain to you what being in Japan is like....each person has a different take on that country....
kind of like Lothlorien in LOTR....you will experience what you will based on what you bring there... keep an open mind and you may find many surprises..... chances are you're gonna be shocked even if you don't have an open mind :D

good luck :)

have fun during your time in japan this is your chance to check it out and see if japan is really what you want remember that when you talk to people that live there remember what they tell you is their opinion on japan not yours! dont let anyone get in your way of deciding :p

Wow, isn't this a trip. Almost 3 years later since, this post. i've yet to visit the place.... lol

Mikes right, you wouldn't believe how many people come here proclaiming to be upping sticks or moving to Japan to never actually get there.
