Just to make sure everyone knows as of this month Americans, Brits, etc. need an evisa siilar to the US esta to enter Japan

Does anything change regarding filling out the Visit Japan Web? I just traveled to Japan two weeks ago and I didn't notice any difference in procedures. And I didn't fill it out until the day of travel.

It's just an online thing like esta at least as I understand it. Perhaps I am misunderstanding.
Your second link is about a visa, that is different and nothing to do with this.

Hmm looking again maybe I did misunderstand while US residing persons can apply online maybe citizens do not maybe alert I got was misunderstood by me.

The first link came from the page you posted. FAQ about eVisa. And the second link came from this question. So it seems to imply that we are exempt from the eVisa. And that was my experience a couple weeks ago.
