Here's some more pictures. I think I cycled about 40 50 km 40 or 50 km today it's quite a bit too especially if you know the roads in Thailand it's crazy these people drive crazy and l m riding alone these people.
Much different than Japan really different luckily I bought a mirror but the mirror shakes too much and it's all I'm not going to say it's worthless because it's actually pretty good when it works but I probably have to buy a different mirror for the bike one that's more stable.
This is more pictures of going around Bangkok and also possibly the temple it's really strange because I only saw two Buddhist monks there at the temple.

I believe this is a high school or a trade school and everybody rides a motorbike here
IMG_20241029_122038.webp

I think this has something to do with praying for the Dead because there's a lot of pictures along the wall and some of them seem to be quite old.
IMG_20241029_122001.webp

It's really amazing what you see it at these temples I went by myself so I don't have a translator to translate what these statues all mean.

This part seems to be a very old part of the Temple with many other things small little ornaments all around the are

To tell you the truth I thought this was pretty scary

Yep that's my touring bike of Thailand for the moment and in that bag is a book of how you speak Thai. You're wondering how much it cost plus close to $50 and everything is on the internet it has a QR code and you do it and then it comes on your phone and you read it from your phone really weird stuff how technology has taken over this I have no idea what this was all about.

There are these figures all around the temple I have no idea what they mean but they probably means something to shed away from evil spirits I think I have a lot more pictures okay guys stay tuned if I do.

This is something unique in Thailand

I was at the Rock concert and then yet two days ago and it was so beautiful the sunset came down and as you can tell by the pictures this is what it looks like in Bangkok now he's so beautiful at night I can see why people come to Bangkok and buy million dollar condominiums but to me I'd rather live far from Bangkok out where the with the elephant saw her not really too far from actually where I'm living right now about three hour drive actually I'll be going there soon so I'll be taking some pictures so stay tuned man

Nice pictures actually pretty soon I'll be going up into the mountains for the elephants are . It's about a 3-hour drive but maybe about 4 hours I'm not too for sure cuz I haven't gone up there yet one good thing is that actually I'm pretty lucky because there's no trains to hop on and put your bicycle on but at least on long distance really long distance I have my whole family and we put our bicycles on the back of the truck so that's pretty cool other than that I cycle around Bangkok myself.

Thanks for the reports and pictures. Glad to see you're doing well.

You've really gotten around!
Really thank you very much. When we feel like there's full of adventure and jump into it jump on the boat of life and Battlestar life into a positive direction life is very nice really I feel so I'm very fortunate that although I live in Japan and I can travel back and forth to Thailand this is my second trip by the way and it's pretty cool I'll be here for 90 days go back to Japan and take care of business then hop on a plane come back to Thailand that's my lifestyle now and at 71 years of age how much will the life I choose right.

@johnnyG , why are you spamming @musicisgood 's thread? I can understand your gripe about the Japan Photos thread, but this in the ChitChat section. I always thought that the etiquette was to treat OP's a certain amount of respect on the threads they start?

I was wondering about that myself. @johnnyG what are you doing??

I will explain to you both Johnny and I are Air Force veterans of the United States military.
I've lived overseas for many years I never heard of Vietnam era veteran.
I always said I was a Vietnam veteran and I found out by him chewing my *** out I am not a Vietnam veteran I'm a Vietnam era veteran and yet he's never let that go for some reason.
The fact of it is I have 45 days of hazardous duty overseas which qualifies for me for something I don't know and I don't care I have an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force so I wish he would stop attacking me I mean I am apologize to him and yet he attacks me but perhaps he has some mental problems I don't know.

Just a little clarification: I'd say posting travel photos of other Asian countries is well within the scope of the chit-chat section. I remember we had interesting photo threads and blog entries about Saudi Arabia and Yemen. That's what the chit-chat section is for. The Japan Photos thread is an entirely different issue.

Today's December 3rd 2024.
I got about 15 more days left here in Bangkok Thailand.

I was able to take the written test both for the car and driver's license I passed both then behind the wheel of the car passed and the motorcycle license test actual driving test I passed so I got high driver's license for a car and a motorcycle but I don't have a freaking license in Japan really pisses my *** off.

Anyway here's some more pictures enjoy and by the way the temperature is like 85 87°, good weather.

This is what a mom and pop Little village store looks like yeah the lady here was pretty friendly she let me sit down and drink my beer at the table.

1000008185.webp

Had to take a beer run yeah it's really hot I mean really really hot.

1000008184.webp

This is a little mom-and-pop store. What's really killing these little mom-and-pop stores is that 7-Eleven is popping up like about every I don't know less than 250 m. No joke, they're just popping up everywhere. So far, these small little mom-and-pop stores are really neighborhood stores, and basically just people who don't have a car or just handicap or whatever shop here.

1000008182.webp

I don't know how this picture got in here but my friend from Hong Kong sent it to me but Thanksgiving.

1000008130.webp

This is real spicy Thai vegetables that were cooked in the sauce really good.

1000008129.webp

This is probably what they call a Thai nambe it's pretty cool if you get to make your own you get to choose what vegetables you want to put in it and you can eat all you want for One Price actually it comes with a whole bunch of other stuff to eat.

1000008092.webp

We spent the evening here at a local restaurant facing the Bangkok River watching the barges and boats tourist boats for back and forth the water was pretty calm in the evening but during the day it was pretty rough it's nice to just kick back and watch the boats in the evening watch your son go down, and then they have a light show that goes up in the sky it's pretty wild just really have to be here to enjoy the reality of the excitement of the unknown.

1000008090.webp

Well that's it for now I'll be outside for more in the near future kind of busy right now I need to really try to get more out of my countryside that's it Bangkok is a pretty big city and I don't know how long it would take them to get out of the city that is mostly freeways

These are snake fish. They are BBQ and salty. They are chewy—I forgot how to spell the word chewy.
They are the weirdest fish I've seen.

IMG_20241210_173625.webp

Not sure what these are.

IMG_20241210_173615.webp

This is an outdoor fish market. You won't believe all the fish and shrimp available at prices. Well, if you exchange dollars for a bot, it's not bad, but if you use yen to buy an exchange, it's a killing. Don't come to Thailand with Japanese yen.

IMG_20241210_161515.webp

We ate here. It was good food, but the fried rice was probably one of the worst I've had in Thailand so far.

IMG_20241210_161504.webp

This is the spicy shrimp soup. Actually, it's really good. Yeah, I really don't like it. I've had it a couple of times so far.

Come to Thailand with American dollars.
