COVID-19 Coronavirus: global situation

True. Not only do I have elderly parents but I had the flu back in 2008 it was, I had to keep my projects moving so I just worked from home that was no fun at all and brings new meaning to working feverishly lol. If nothing else I take the shot to keep me productive. A second shot a year for covid would not change much.

With a bit of luck, I managed to get my first shot (Moderna) last week. No side effects beyond a sore arm. I felt a slight bit of malaise too but that could have been due to my imagination and poor sleep schedule.

Congratulations! When will you get your second shot?

Japan, on the other hand: the vaccination of frontline medical staff has started. Older people will be next; their vaccinations are supposed to start in April. For the rest of the population.... autumn, perhaps? Every time Pfizer vaccines are flown in from Belgium, it is widely reported in the media, like manna from heaven. Last week saw the delivery of batch no. 6. Things are very slow.

Congratulations! When will you get your second shot?
Four weeks after the first, so in another three weeks.
Hopefully Japan can get other vaccines approved and speed things up. America is moving along more swiftly than anticipated. Three are approved and a fourth on the way. I'm glad I got one of the first two. They seem to have the better efficacy according to their trials and by now with tens of millions of doses distributed there seems to be no question regarding their safety.

I read somewhere that they are up to 700000 vaccinations in Japan, which is very slow.

Once Maine got mass shot setups going in several places , it made a big difference. Our problem now is the government can't give the state the vaccines fast enough.

I don't know the produced vaccines are effective or not. I suppose the vaccines mostly are being made by chance rather than the methodical programs, while the new genres of the first virus are appearing in the world one after another. I don't think this ominous virus leaves us easily or the vaccines that have been made with closed eyes can root them up.

I heard in the news, a type of vaccine in the European countries had a risky side effect and it caused a blood clot in some of the users. This means the users died or were paralyzed because of the clot formation in their blood vessels.
I prefer not to be vaccinated and ask the virus not to have anything to do with me. Of course, the virus will not listen to me but I appeal to God to make me secure against this deathly agent.

I have a lot of original heavenly prayers that each one has a particular effect on the events. I'm confident due to reading these wonderful prayers and trust in God's promise. After talking with the originator of the world, me, and the virus and requesting him my ask I will never be worried about anything. These miraculous prayers are other than the man-made ceremonies that somebodies hold and believe those prayers can save them against the disease and they don't need any medicine, vaccine, mask, and disinfectant liquids.

I said in one of my posts, both the medicine and supernatural help are from God and no one is deniable, but just leaning on the medicine and material treatments solely is not enough and those heavenly prayers change the fates. This is what has made me so confident.

I'm confident the vaccines were not made "by chance." At least the European/American ones. I'm less confident about the Russian and Chinese ones. The data is very clear on how effective they are, at least against the first variants. Anyway I'm very happy my mother is fully vaccinated and myself and my wife will be fully vaccinated in a month. We got the one that is 95% effective. And hopefully they'll have an updated vaccine we can take for the other variants soon.

That was very rare complication. One in a million. But the good news is that even that complication is treatable. The odds of getting severely sick or dead from the virus are much higher.

Thank you Thomas for the response, though I couldn't watch the video, yet I realized you wanted to tell me, the AstraZeneca vaccine is generally safe and doesn't trouble people. Nonetheless, I am still suspicious about the vaccines that have been made in a short time and the long term of their probable side effects are not clear.
As you know, producing a medicine takes long a few years to be tested comprehensively and then offers to the markets as reliable med, while all the vaccines that have been made against covid-19 have been produced in a short term and they may have some negative side effects that are not clear, now.

Nonetheless, if you ask me about the production of the vaccines, I will say, there is not any alternative unless the medical centers try to find a way to stop the fatality of the virus, and the best alternative can be producing a vaccine, though the effort is mostly experimentally.

Fighting with hazardous Bacteria is simpler than viruses that are semi-plant-beast. Bacteria usually change themselves less than viruses and the mutations happen in viruses more and faster than in bacteria. A virus can change its internal mechanism to eliminate the factors that threaten its life or limit its activities, in this case, the capability of bacteria is fewer. I have never heard that bacteria such as plague or typhus are changed into another type of bacteria with a different action and name, though they try to increase their immunity against antibiotics.

Hi mdchachi

The vaccine is a certain scientific medical prevention versus many diseases indubitably and nobody can deny it. This type of medical treatment has saved the soul of many people during the recent centuries. I also haven't any discussion about medical researches that are based on science wholly. I call doctors and medical scientists, the professional guard of the health of people. Medicine is a so complicated science and everything in this field is based on accurate and detailed finds and discoveries. Today we can see the wonderful developed medical equipment, devices, and facilities that save the soul of thousands of people in the world. Nowadays complex medical system and network is not something that someone like me can opine about it or take it under question.

I just pointed to the limited time for medical organization in the research of the covid-19 virus. They had to discover some effective vaccines in a limited time that doesn't allow them to do enough research and tests about the new vaccines. In other words, medical society hasn't any failure or shortage inherently but as it has to produce the necessary vaccines as soon as possible in a short time, this damages the accuracy of the research and works.

As I told Thomas, for making a new medicine the medical centers need enough time for study, research, and tests that sometimes takes long several years. In the covid-19 condition, the limited time is the greatest problem for medical scientists and they have to work hastily to reduce the number of patients and those who are losing their soul day after day. If I said, I suppose the vaccines are producing by chance, my purpose was not that medical society is unable to make an effective vaccine, but I told, they are producing and offering those vaccines in a harry.

Frank let me I write a short critique herein

Although the storyteller has made the story awkwardly but I think if the professor requested God faithfully, there was a probability that God would knocked him off himself.

The problem of the professor was that he either was in doubt about God or he wanted to show the students there is no God.

Of course the story can be right partially. Sometimes God forces someone to do something.

Religion is fascinating to study and learn about. I think it would be easy to spend a lifetime studying in that area. It is also a very emotional subject to many people who feel strongly about it. I will admit to being afraid to talking about it because I don't want to upset anyone by saying the wrong thing.

The question should not be how did they do it so fast. Or that there must be something wrong. The question is why is it taking so long to solve other diseases. The quick development of the vaccines is an example of what we can do when we put the best minds and enough funding to accomplish something.

Also as I understand it, we were fortunate in that many years of research and study had already been put into the SARS virus. Since it's a similar virus, those findings were applicable for Covid and one reason why they were able to make the vaccines so quickly.

Frank, my mind has been locked. whatever I try to write a comment I cannot. Do you know why?

Because I think you have supposed my previous post had been a type of threatening.

NO. You should not think so. I just told, God sometimes interferes in the will of humans to do or don't do something

But as you see the world has been confused between these many types of vaccines that have not passed the clinical tests and reviews accurately.

Everybody ask himself, which vaccine is the same that can save me?! Indian, Russian, American, Chinese, Canadian, British, French or...? Which one is the right and reliable vaccine?!

Of course people are not able to analysts or recognize these matters. They have to submit themselves to the vaccine that their governments specify and provided.

Indeed, which vaccine is the right one, while each one has been made through a different method in a short time?

No Mansoor , I hope I did not give you the wrong impression. I hate censorship and enjoy reading things on the internet. I look at things you post and posts from members who live in other countries as a way to better understand the world. Much of what I read about Iran makes your country sound like an enemy and it is propaganda from my US government. I am 71 years old and I have never met a Muslim so I look at you as a teacher and window into your world. Sometimes I wish JREF had a Zoom system here so we could see each other on camera. Anyway , please consider me a friend even if I sometimes type the wrong things.

Yes that's true. We have to rely on our governments who are not always trustworthy. In the U.S. now we have three options and probably four soon. I'm glad I received one of the first ones because the trials show efficacy to very high and there have been over 80 million doses given already with no deaths or significant side effects.

I feel bad that it seems the mask wearing and 6 foot apart rules don't seem to want to go away. Many claim that after all are vaccinated 100% . they still want us to wear masks and remain at a distance from other people. It sure would be nice to go back to normal and forget all abought this virus .

Depends on the variants. It seems the first vaccines don't have as much protection against the newer varieties. Hopefully by mid summer things will be looking much better.

Thank you Frank, your graceful comment removed my sadness and anxiety. I am not social much and am often at home. I meet people face to face less unless go out to buy some necessary stuffs. I even don't contact people much in the internet. There are many Iranian forums but I just drop in one occasionally ( maybe one time every month ) and usually leave that soon without write anything.

From six months ago I became member of a freelancing website and now spend my time often there to earn money (translation- technical and logo designing) but I didn't succeed. During these months I just could earn 50 $. I mostly am similar to a fisherman who is waiting to catch fish beside a river but apparently other fishermen are more lucky than him! Nonetheless I have been addicted to the rambling and looking for nothing! Imagining a big fatty fish doesn't allow me to stop unsuccessful fishing hahahaha

I sometimes com to Jerf and talk with you. I didn't know this website earlier and came here by chance. I first even paid no attention that this website is a serious place for discussion about Japanese and English language and it is not a place for chatting. Of course It was not irreverent place for me because my purpose of going to the English forum was that to develop my incomplete English.

Five years passed and I'm still here with some odd comments!

Thank you

WOW! Your life style sounds like mine. I am a true hermit and only leave my house about once a month to get gas for my cars. My wife does all the errands so I don't have to leave my house. All my close friends I used to see and visit with have died. I think because I did not smoke or drink , I outlived them all . My wife is the only person I really have close contact with. I live my life on the internet now , each day for 8 to 10 hours. Your comment on fishing reminded me of when I used to fish , LOL. people to my left and right would catch fish and no matter what bait I used , I never had a bite. My only hobby beside the internet is collecting guns and sometimes target shooting. When you live next to the saltwater ocean , you have to clean your guns often or they will rust. By the time I clean my last gun , it is time to clean the first one again , LOL. I buy guns as an investment kind of like people invest in stocks & bonds. I find if you buy a good quality gun , in 5 to 10 years it can double or triple in value. I plan to sell them all when I am no longer able to go shooting or take care of them and make my money back. Do you have any interesting hobbies?

I think this is where existentialism comes in, and not god. You have to choose, to make a choice.

(not only this vaccine, but many many other things)
