ZATO-NO ICHI...or in English Zatoïchï

Did anybody saw a Zato-no Ïchi movie??

it doesnt matter the old one(s) or the new one from Beat Takeshi Kitano
i like it very much is almost similar to Lady Snowblood(this story is used to make the Kill Bill vol.)
i like Zato-ni Ïchi very much its always action with humor and escpecially the movie Zato-ni Ïchi meets the Yojimbo(with Toshiro Mifune)

Am I daft, or isn't the film-series most popularly, simply called, Zatouichi!??? I don't know or not if is the way you describe it, rather than that being the grammatical source.

Anma, Zato- and Mekura: "Anma" refers to blind men, for whom giving massages was a traditional occupation. Another word for "anma" is "zato," hence the main character Ichi is called "Zato-no-Ichi" (Ichi the Zato, or Ichi the Masseur), "Zato-Ichi" (or Zatoichi) for short. As in medieval Europe, in feudal Japan, the names of many people were based on their occupations. "Mekura" simply refers to the blind.

I know the new one with Beat Takeshi is called Zatoichi... not sure about the original though. From your gramatical analysis it looks like they just shortened it.
