Worried about kyo

Now don't get me wrong : I LOVE DeG. Heck, I sleep with the Kyo plushie every night and no one enjoys watching Kyo vomit up blood more than me. But there comes a point when you have to stop and think about it.

I hate to sound preachy but by minor is in psychology and alot of the behaviors he exhibits are really disturbing the more and more you think about it. Agressive peircings always speak of abuse of some sort and in this case it seems to be the gateway to even more painfull stuff such as self mutilation. As much as I love all the darkness of his creativity I think it would be better if he took a break from it for awhile inorder to spend some time getting better. The man has a lot of fans, most of which have already had the experiance of having their hearts ripped out by suicide as it is (May Saint Hide forever rest in peace). It worries me that people see this and don't do anything about it. It makes me wonder what steps the other band members might be taking against it. I mean, did Totchi ever look at him and go; Um, kyo? WHy are you carving away at your chest with that spork?

I'm really concerned.

OMG! If Kyo were to commit suicide!

I have to agree with Hide My Heart. Why isn't anyone around him helping. I'm not minoring in psychology but I have been around self mutilation/suicide a lot. A lot of times the victim (Kyo) usually does this stuff as a cry for help. At least that's what I've seen in my time (?). I know a lot of kids back in high school used to cut themselves either for attention (to be cool and show off -___-) or because they wanted someone to notice and try to help them out. I understand that others just do it for the pain. *shrug* Anyway. Blah. Not sure what I'm trying to get at right now but people around Kyo should try to help him and ask him what wrong. Or something. Fleh. I just woke up. My brain isn't working all too well right now. >__< X__x

Maybe he has? Maybe Kyo just chooses not to answer? Even if he does tell them why, what can they do about it? Have him locked in a loony bin?
They can offer their support but he can always choose not to take it.
 
I wasn't saying it in a negative way (although it came of that way), I was honestly just wondering if the band *had* taken steps or not. Going back and reading that it came off alot more condecending than it should have. Sorry for not making myself clear.

And yeah, treating the problem is a problem in it's self. I mean, DeG has a huge empire sitting at their feet right now. What *can* they do? But if Kyo really is ill then I think they should just take a few months off to focus on the problem. I'm not saying they should whisk Kyo away o a looney bin or whatever, but just 3 months or so of some therapy while doing a *little* work on the side. Nothing too stressfull.

It just bothers me a little that people don't realise how serious this is. When Kyo was having problems with his voice and couldn't sing they didn't blink an eye about taking some time off for him o heal. WHy should this be any different? I guess I'm just worried and want to see him get better, and the worry is growing the more I realise that he might not get the chance to because of his singing. Which would be a shame.

I think so too. But there's always the chance that Kyo will do the same thing that wacky singer from the aussie band silverchair did... (lock himself away in his home and slowly slip into a deeper depression) =/

I think when it comes down to it, Kyo will have to help himself(or at least make the decision to get help) because no one can do it for him or make him do it.

I think so to. But that dosn't mean that even simple therapy wouldn't be helpfull. At least the message is begining to get across that help is there for him.
 
Kyo loves to sing, we can't just take that from him no matter how bad he gets. His singing is what keeps him calm in some words. So time off= Bad thing in the long run.
 
But singing is also work. Work is obviously not the best thing for him right now. And he can still sing, he just needs to take a break from all the stress and have some 'me' time to work through things.
 
Hmmm, I see your point. But although making music is of course "work" for Dir en grey, it may be also makes Kyo feel better to do it. So it could be helping, rather than making matters worse - only Kyo would know.

I would certainly hope that the other band members (and crew and stuff too!) would try their best to help and support Kyo in whatever ways they can... but it can be pretty difficult to help someone in that situation as I'm sure many of you are only too well aware.
 
My main concern about the singing is that it may continie to reinforce negative things in his life while persuingtreatment. Just look at the lyrics. But then again only his doctor would be in that position to make that call. I was thinking more or less the lives. I don't think thearapy would do much if he were still vomiting blood on stage.
 
Singing is like theraphy, it makes you feel better and I think that it did help Kyo in the beginning but It doesn't seem to have the same effect anymore....

He needs to find someone to talk to or get some help, this can't continue. It's just getting worse and worse. Today he carves words on his chest but tomorrow...? He reaches for more and more extreme ways to release the pressure.
 
I'm just so worried about him. When I saw those pics of what he had done to himself I started to cry. I felt as if someone had driven a knife right into my heart.
 
His lyrics are his poetry, that's how he get's feelings out. I know how you'd be worried, his 'poetry' is very morbid and it seems lonely. But almost everyone's poetry is like that. It usually show's your 'dark side', so to say. Like so: (mine, not a full one , but an example.)

Not that you'd want to have that as your poem, but I usually don't show them, I just thought this would be a prime example. Yes, do have things wrong with me, however, writing these things helps me to cope so that I do not get bad, so hopeefully, they do the same for Kyo. ^^
 
Thats why I put in the bit of only his doctor making the call. Becasue your right! Creative stuff can sometimes be very healing. What I was sort of worried about was constantly surrounding himself with more negative images. Gah! This is all so twisty like! How do you redconcile the singer with the man? Do you treat the sepperatley? t seems to me that wouldn't work....
 
Look at his videos too. He shows you the poetry. That's just how it works, don't let it worry you. He is trying to tell you things through the imagery, it would seem. But, I wouldn't think he's trying to worry his fans, he loves his fans, and is just trying to show you things. Take Obscure's pv for instance..To some it's a repulsive desplay, to others, it's visual poetry. It just depends on how you see things. ^^
 
Yeah , I know. It's just..well..the whole carving into himself has me pretty upset. I guess when it comes down to the end of the day none of us are going to have a hand in any ofitother than our sincearest and most fondest wishes for his health.
 
I'll see what I can do. I will ask my friend to pass a message to her aunt for us. I am not saying Kyo will get it, but there is a much better chance of him getting it that way.
 
Hmm, you mentioned your Aunt before, do you have a secret conection? :?
 
Not my aunt, my friends aunt. I can just pass the message and hope her aunt tells him. So yeah, it's not really my connection, it's my friends. ^^;;
 
I think..... Kyo hurting himself 'cause he's sooooo mad about he's mother death....
 
But thats one hell of a way of regulating it. It speaks of a greater problem.
 
She just laid it down so bluntly. We just want to know eh's ok. ;_; Not WHY he's hurting, because we do know he is hurting.

Yes, and plus even if we *did* know why he was hurting we couldn't help (well, except for Champloo who has a mysterious uber connection thingy). Like I said earlyer, for the most part our hands are tied.
