Wishful thinking in Japanese??

How do you say in japanese something like: " I hope.... ", like " I hope to get an A in that exam" or something like that, a doubt that I've had for quite some time now, hope someone can help me ^^
 
As far as I know, a common way of expressing wishes is ~reba or ~tara ii no ni. You can also use it to express you're praying for something.

「勝ったらいいのに」 for example, means "I wish I would win."
 
or ~といい。

Using John's example; 勝といいですよね。
