I don't think it is 'out of the normal'. 2 guys, or 2 of the same sexes kissing etc. has been going on for a very very very long time now, and it has gone on for so long that is SHOULD be a normal thing. Seriously, think about it...

lol... um.... i don't think homosexuality is out of the norm....
i think two guys dressed as girls playing music and making out with eachother on the stage.... and insome cases getting carried away is 'out of the norm'.....
you generally dont' even see that with the male and femals band members...
and it's somethign that is kinda spacific to Japan... there are some other bands that di fanservice-y type things....
and a lot of emo bands do now cos they caught on o the fact that 'it's hot' but they over play it a bit >.<

i... i also completely agree with you that people SHOULD accept homosexuality because it's something that has been arround for.... longer than christianity....
half the romans were gay before they introduced catholisism... just obviously they figured it was kinda foolish to devote your life to a guy cos you wouldn't get any offspring...
but that was at a time when offspring was like a crutial thing....
now it really doesn't matter... and the world would probably benifit if all closit gays quite prettending cos of the whole over popluation thing >.<

i, personally, wouldn't calss that as Yaoi and more shonen-ai.. because my understanding of Yaoi is that it's hentai... and even though the clamp girls are very much so frustrated... they're not >that< frustrated ^^;

seriously, i think there is some kind of Japanese conspiracy- because in my country a lot of boys, who even don't watch anime start looking like they've just stepped out from a yaoi episode...it's just fashion... and the girls love it!!
everywhere around the world the men become more and more metrosexual and I don't know hao is it going to end... gays in club culture have become more popular than ever...

From my point of view, the girls prefer feminised men because they seem more kind and gentle... or maybe we like the thought that we could be the girl who would change their sexual orientation (but keep your appearance, boy!)

o.... if you're going on the whole appearence thing...
well... girls are blatantly 'prittier'... therefor guys that can look like girlks are consiquently 'pretty'
so... it's the whole pretty boy thing...

actually, it works any way, if you think of any of the 'pretty boys' of wester culture, and try and imagin them dresed as women... they'd look pretty convincing... (lol, yes, i have no life and i sit in my room thinking these things through far too much XD) it's the howl smooth lines and soft features thing...

however, some girls go for the complete opposite and like the big hairy manly type.... generally not your typical anime fan i might add ^^;

and the whole thing about it being everywhere? well, i don't know about over there, but over here the emo culture (i mean the 'new' emo) have cought onto the fact that guys kissing is hott, and so they do it all the time... the girls (i know a lot of them) don't actually think it's that hott, but they go a log with it cos they're emo... but actualyl i've found it to be the case that the emo scene here at least is taking so much from the VK system... weather they know it or not... it's a little annoying really, but only because i hate sheep (well, not sheep, cos i'm a sheep, but... you knwo what i mean)

I think there are many reasons why you like Yaoi/fanservice. For me there are several:
It's cute when two sexy and cute guys are kissing each other and their also some kind of sexual attraction seeing two guys making out with each other (the same when guys see two girls together). Also it's the fascinating of something "forbidden" and not really "normal" (although I agree that it should be normal). And if they're really gay I feel happy for them finding a partner. There's also this little thought of "If I can't have them no other girl should have them so it's better to "loose" them to boys" (<-- I know it's kind of stupid and childish but that's what's going around in my head )

I agree. It's wonderful too see that those boys have a sensitive site and can show their feelings (although most of the fanservices are "fake" since most j-rocker are not gay) and are not like the boys around you always paying attention not to show too many feelings and being "manly"(at least the boys I know do that and it annoys me).

ezactly the same about 2 girls kissing... the fact that it >is< so 'out of the norm' is a big thing, everyone wants what they can't have, and when somethings wrong, that instantly makes you want it... simple reverse psycology.
someone mentioned before that when they watch 2 girls they think it's hott but want to join in... imagin if you KNEW those girls were doping it... just to get your attention... it had nothing to do with the fact that they were attracted to eachother, it was simply to get yourattention and your reaction...
that's what fanservice is... you watch Miyavi... when he kisses another guy on stage... the grils scream madly... THIS really excites him, so he does it more...
it's all simply in the fact that they KNOw the girls love it, so they do it, just to get them all worked up, and in tern, so do they...

Yes, I think you got it XD That sounds right~ The only thing I hate, is people that understand fanservice. I mean, okay you don't have to like it, okay you can think whatever you want about the people that do fanservice. Everyone is entitled to their opinion after all right? I just dislike people who critize it without really knowing what it is...

And I find a lot of people (especially if they don't know or aren't fans of) Jrock are quick to judge fanservice. I think if you don't understand something you should inform yourself right?

And I guess it's the same withjust yaoi, people that don't like it think it's weird because it's something they don't see everyday... and people like it for just that same reason.

And seriously Jrock are in SHOW business, of course they'll do that kind of thing when they know girls ( and most Jrock fans are girls XD sad but true ... at least it does seem that way..) enjoy it XD

If it were old guys who did not look too old (eg. Chachamaru who is 50) then yes that is also hot.

Um, personally I don't think Yaoi is appealing at all. Just to put that out there. I am not saying gay guys shouldn't get together and stuff. I just don't like music/anime/manga about it.
I also wouldn't find two guys kissing on stage very appealing...
