"That you use race as an identifier amongst friends is one sure sign about your feelings of identity and race."
Yeah too bad it's just an irrelevant nickname huh?
"I have Vietnamese friends back home in Australia. Never once is race an issue, nor a nickname. Johnny is Johnny. Chuong is Chuong. Azzizzi is Azzizzi, not towel head or anything like that."
So what? I have a right to call my friend whitey, and he doesn't care. I'm guessing because you're supposedly "older" then me that you find it immature or just don't call your friends or associates any nicknames of any kind, but in my world, you call your firends whatever you want, whenever you want. Because if the're really friends, would they care if you nicknamed them whitey?
"Just because you have SOME restraint and don窶冲 call people cracker doesn窶冲 mean your feelings of race are any less strong."
I don't have strong feelings on race. The issue doesn't come up, well, until jerks like you have to come and bombard me.
"Unless you actually have feelings for the girl it should be a COMPLETE non issue to you. Not even worth watching."
I have feelings for her, and not in the love sense, just the fatherly sense. I just don't like it when I have to sit around and watch people choose the wrong path when I know how to fix it and yet don't.
"Oh
My
GOD
And any credibility you have just shattered into a million fractured pieces. You continually keep saying you aren窶冲 racist, you don窶冲 think one race is superior. But in this very paragraph you have written of Caucasians as less moral, less valued and of lesser qualities to Asians. Need I sink to your level and post how there some moral characteristics that Asians seem to lack?
You don't even have to tell me. Your post was idiotic. You ARE judging people on race. You believe, without even meeting someone, that a white person has less values and morals to a Korean for instance. This WILL colour your impressions of people when you first meet them.
YOU
ARE
A
RACIST"
Hmm, too bad I don't hate the entire race enough to make me a racist huh?
"This thread gives numerous clear examples of why you aren't over it. But your first post is the best example."
So wait, when I say I'm not over it I get turned down, but then I'm just supposed to believe your filth? What kind of trade is that?
"So do you get angry and offended when another Asian hits on a girl? When a white guy hits on a white girl? Heck the Asian guy might be a bad guy. You never know."
I don't get offended when I see anybody hitting on anybody. Seems like somebody can't read.
"Then you need to find out why the girls are going for Caucasians. Also something doesn't add up. You keep saying how you are a minority in your area, yet Asians represent 33%?
Odd."
Oh sorry, replace Asian with Korean.
"The fact that you even CARE, that you watch, that these thought processes are in your head is enough to make you a bigot."
OK, this is the problem with you stupid Americans; you completely disregard the word "PREJUDICE"! Prejudice is judging before knowing anything about something. Care to try defending against that?
"It窶冱 none of your concern, none of your business."
Would you let your kids willingly go down the wrong path? I think not.
"Yet in your head you're making it your business."
Well I am her father...
"There窶冱 said to be a big difference amongst Japanese living abroad and Japanese on home soil when it comes to national identity. On the Japanese mainland you will NOT be accepted as Japanese. I tell you this with 99% confidence."
Hmm, too bad I already am huh?
"Oh yes, yes it does. You are half Japanese. But half gaijin. You can never ever be completely Japanese in their eyes."
Um, why should I care? The Japanese I know all know me and consider me to be Japanese. So what if I'm not full-blooded? That doesn't entail me to anything else, cept, maybe those Japanese-only bars...
Many bars and onsens have signs that read 'Japanese only'. And the decision on who enters is decided on how Japanese they look. \
Get educated here:
www.debito.org: THE ROGUE'S GALLERY: Photos of places which refuse non-Japanese in Japan
Heck this guy is a Japanese citizen. He has a Japanese name, Japanese family and Japanese passport. Yet he gets refused entry because he doesn窶冲 LOOK Japanese.
Another story is that a group were refused entry into an onsen as they didn't look Japanese and 'scare' other customers. They were later told that one of their children, who looks Japanese (but is Chinese) could enter, but their other child couldn窶冲 as he didn't look Japanese.
Surprised you didn't know of this."
Was I spposed to?
"Which is EXCEPTIONALLY ODD. You will be treated like some kind of weirdo."
Heh, I wouldn't just come into some place with my own set, unless it called for celebration. Most places I ask for chopsticks.
"You were 7. You likely have distorted memories."
Good thing this is just an opinion. Nope, I remember it pretty well.
"Being stared at on the train is likely one of the most common complaints a foreigner (read me and you) makes in Japan."
Even if I was/am going to be stared at, why would I care? Atleast I'm getting attention. Hell if it got a conversation going I'd be more than happy to be eye-candy.
"I don窶冲 know why you need them. But you do. and you must carry it around with you at all times and from what I understand the police can demand to see it at anytime (granted it hasn't happened to me, but has happened to my friend many times. Usually when riding his bike).
It窶冱 a pink and white photo ID card you get from the government office. It窶冱 called a 'Certificate of Alien Registration'.
Again, surprised you didn't know."
Me too.
"Seriously. You don窶冲 LIVE in Japan."
You're right. I liveD in Japan.
"The other night I text messaged a girl. Said 'Oyasumi nasai' in hiragana and kanji. She was SHOCKED that I could write Japanese. Said how good it was. This is NOT a rare occurrence here.
Stop thinking about Japanese you know in Georgia. Keep up. I窶冦 talking about in Japan itself."
Um, I said "within Japan" now didn't I?
"So you窶决e not 50/50? Be prepared for some REAL fun then."
Um, what?
"Sigh. PEOPLE I'M BLUE IN THE FACE HERE!
In Japan. This girl is a student in a JAPANESE HIGH SCHOOL. A school that窶冱 pretty much 99% Japanese. You can act 'Japanese' (or your distorted version thereof) all you want. But just KNOWING you aren't Japanese will mean you are treated MUCH differently in school."
I AM Japanese. I'm pretty sure that's been clarified by now.
"Just like Yun. If you are an exchange student you will be a novelty. Treated differently. If you LIVED here or your kids did they will be treated differently. Likely not very nicely."
And?
"They are patronising you."
My friends wouldn't do something like that.
"They may see some Japanese in you. Heck I can use chopsticks. Fricking amazing isn't it?"
Yes, because that's the only Japanese trait I hold -_-
"Well it is too some Japanese here as I Have been told 'You are just like Japanese' because I can use chopsticks."
Um, you're not like "Japanese" because you can use chop sticks. And, from what I know(but am not going to declare it fact as I don't know), chopsticks are Chinese.
"You are not Japanese. Not full blooded. Not born there. You are a foreigner, just like me, by the Japanese cultural definition of the word."
I was born in
Okinawa, so, you're almost right.
"No, you proved earlier in your post that you feel Asians are morally superior. You can窶冲 even keep track of your own bleatings in one post?"
So? It's really too bad you don't live where I live to make such radical defense statements huh?
"Kid the only person who looks bad here is you. Highlighted by the fact that NO-ONES taken your side."
So what? I'm not trying to rally up troops, and there isn't power in numbers all the time.
"And you just said that Asians are superior to Caucasians, one post after saying you didn't feel that way. Incredible."
OK, I want you to read this, and if you neglect it, than I will leave this post and never post again. Ahem: The Asians within the city of Augusta, which is in the state of Georgia, the Asians are indeed superior to the Caucasians. Now then, that only applies to the people within Augusta, NOWHERE ELSE. Try to call me a racist now
"You're losing it Ape. You have stated numerous times that this bothers you. That you have superiority and identity issues. That Caucasians make you angry, that they offend you when they talk to Asian girls.
You are in one serious case of denial."
Too bad I'm over that huh dip shnoggle?

Congratulations, YOU are an idiot.
