This could be true - though maybe Judgment Day is the same as physical death?
Bingo, be it a kind of (near) death-experience. it just has been exploited by some religions, to create fear and collect according money to "wash" yourself, hehe.

I've heard this too - the saying that "my life flashed before my eyes". This might also be the same as "judgment day".
I think that things like this can happen in an instant of what we think of as "time", like Half-n-Half said about sleep. I have woken up hours later, thinking it was only a few minutes later. But then other times I've woken up and can't remember what day it is, even the date or time of year! It's like I traveled somewhere else and had all kinds of adventures and then was suddenly dropped back into my body and had to remember what I was doing before I went to sleep.
I've also heard of being able to "see" your life or the meaning of all life, like you mentioned Chi, probably by some kind of meditation. Maybe this would help us when we do actually get to the end of our lives and are "judged" in some way. It probably takes practice and discipline to be able to consciously get your mind into that state where it opens to what has been called (by Carl Jung, I think) the "collective consciousness". It's like you can access this with your subconscious mind and find out information, like using the internet.
Meditation IS the according jungian term also, and Jung was inspired by eastern terms and thoughts (the father of my child, who died, was a swiss Jungian psychologist, by the way).
Point is, we judge ourselves in the end, by realising the wheel of cause and effect in our lives. Every guess, this whaler, who understood, that he has to give a lot back, will die in peace! He made his peace with the "dead ones" and constantly honours them now, his way. Very wise and grown up indeed.
He does not move away, he faces it and thus is really true and honest. May he be blessed furtherhin.
And yes, I also often see the internet as a picture of how our subconsciousness and collective consciousnes is stored and connected.
Also, we once had hilarious times, when I learned photoshop and all its "layers", I permanently found relations (hypers, I said, typical synaesthete, hehe) to other levels of thinking and imagining, and my teacher was often rolling in laughter, and stepping into that game. We had a great time indeed!
So, a meditative and equally dream-state can be a kind of hyper for a while, but then it reaches the eye of the storm, and there it may click a Satori or/and have this typical inner calm, the emptiness, also of the feeling for time. Kind of black hole-symptoms short before possible, but there is no reason to fear. We are made to recover quickly, even daily every morning.
Even time will come back to "normal" needs on the other side, which is not much "other".
Whats much more dangerous, is the fear, that it might not. Fear in general.
No need to fear, just go with the flow, in your own time
