Haha, Made of Stone, you're very unusal, you like both Takoyaki and Monja...?
I like Takoyaki but I've only tried Monja once in my whole life and I think that's enough.

Have you tried Akashi-yaki? I think it's a brother/sister of Takoyaki, and I love it.

Yes, I ate Akashi-yaki in Hyogo-ken (I am a takoyaki fanatic, so it had to be lol)
It's takoyaki in a kind of soup (more like a broth actually). Akashi is famous for its delicious octopus, so that was nice. But I didn't like it so much, I missed my beloved sauce!

You've only tried monja once? Try it again, you might like it! I was faithful to Kansai food at first, but I grew to love monja. Kimchi monja...mmmm!
 
Ramen is the only edible one ive run into so far.

Too many to list but if I have to choose one I will choose Gyoza but it's not really Japanese is it hehe.

When I was little and still living in Germany, my family went to this Japanese restaurant...sadly,I don't know(or remember) what food was served...o.o
Upon moving to the Phils. we don't go to Japanese restaurants anymore...

That reminds me, during my grade school years, in our Home economics class, we were tasked to make/cook a Japanese meal...and me and my groupmates made sushi....(that was so long ago...I don't even remember how it tasted) XD

But I do remember one thing that accompanied "our sushi" ---WASABI... -.-
I absolutely despise wasabi and I was so stupid by tasting it...XD

*choosing from the list,I'd pick sushi....I have no idea what the others are...I'm soo ignorant...XD(except TEMPURA...I know what it is)
 
Well they don't call me the "Ganit" for nothing haha... I will eat ANYTHING (except sprouts). The poll was a close call but probably Yakitori is my favorite one then possibly Ramen.
 
Despite the appearance I like sashimi a lot and also tempura, but Ramen has to be my favorite.
 
Some posters wrote about how bad natto smells. It is only smelly if its old. Fresh natto does not have too much of a smell, unless you stick your nose in it. I had some prejudice against natto until I accidentally bought a natto roll sushi from a convenience store. It was good and not smelly. (If anyone wants to try this, I advise checking the package date. Get the freshest available.)

Talking about convenience stores, I also like the musubi (nori covered rice balls) that are sold there. Most come with something stuck in the middle like salmon, tuna salad, or pickled plum. A couple of those with a couple of pieces of fried chicken and a cold can of green tea make a great lunch in the summertime.

The traditional Japanese breakfast of rice, grilled salmon, miso soup, and nori is also great. It's not as heavy as I thought it would be and keeps you going way into the afternoon without hunger.
 
I like donburi sooo much and I've a problem (must to eat rice alone:? )
 
You can eat donburi as you like.
But it may be a bit boring when you eat ingredients fast and only rice is left in your bowl.
 
none of those since i am a vegetarian. i am partial to gomadoofu and shoojin ryoori (the whole hog, so to speak). good yudoofu and sansai are also tasty. zaru soba without dipping sauce that isn't fish based is yummy. i quite like wagashi (japanese cakes) especially ichigo daifuku and anko based sweets.

They say that Matsumae, and neighboring Fukushima towns (close to Hakodate city) produce about 80% of dried surume squid in the market.

 
Ramen is the best!

I cant believe how i like Ramen. we have a really good Ramen restaurants in Japan and its delicious.

I love Japanses rice. So I have voted on Donburi. There are a lot of kinds of donburi. For example Katu-don(pork cutlet and egg), Oyako-don(chicken and egg), Gyu-don and so on.
 
Where's Unagi-don?That's my fave!!I also like Gyoza!
 
Out of all the japanese things I have had, I must say I am quite fond of a ramen or two.

I mainly like chicken ramen, mainly because a lot of the seafood/fish ones I am not too fond of.

I want ramen now..
 
I had all of those meals while I was in Japan except for okonomiyaki and nikujaga. My 3 favorite meals are Udon + Ramen, Sushi/Sashimi and Sukiyaki. I also ate beans (without peal) as a snack with my host family. dont know the name for it but they were so good and much bether than chips or any other snack (and much healthier !).

I had Shabu Shabu but without the vegetables. I went to a Shabu Shabu place together with a bunch of other students but we kinda lacked money. so when we were checking the menu we only wanted to get the japanese beef but no set which wasnt possible at first, but the staff made an exception for us. they even gave us a free salad to start with. Again prove that Japanese people are very kind..
