What should I send Japanese penpal?

I want to send my penpal a gift, especially of food, but I'm not sure what to send her since you can find anything there anyways. She lives in Mombetsu, Hokkaido . It's pretty small so I fugured she might not have everything they have available in Tokyo ect. So far I bought her some Peppermint Chutney, and Lumpfish caviar. I know they prolly have Lumpfish Caviar, but I figured it'd save her a few bucks. Any ideas on what might be new to her, food or otherwise?

First of all it's a nice thought of you to send something to your penpal. I had a penpal from Japan before and was extatic when she sent me surprises with her letters, so I'm sure you'll make your penpal happy.

But then, just a reminder/warning - be extra careful when sending goods abroad, i.e. do check the regulations regarding food especially. It's sometimes forbidden to send some edible things, seeds, wood etc. to some countries, and if I remember right, with Japan you'd better check that... You can search online or they'll prolly know at your post office.

The first thing that popped into my head was regular tea bags! I couldn't find any thing like PG Tips in Japan while I was there lol. They seem to love their green or chinese teas, or if there is a drink that is similar looking to the UK regular tea bags, it's been overloaded with sugar or sweetener (wasn't a fan of that drink from the vending machine myself!).
