All I really know about him is that he's keen to get his "beautiful Japan" thing going, and it sounds retarded. I also think he's going to be a very forgettable leader.

I think he has helped to mend relations with China (which is an enormous accomplishment) by visiting China before any other country and keeping rhetoric in check. I hope he can restore a forward momentum with South Korea as well because cooperation between these 3 countries can have a big positive impact on the region and the world economy.

However, with the latest fiasco with the pension system, he may have resign to take the blame for the LDP losses in the Diet next month. I wonder who's going to be Prime Minister next?
