What country has the most number of Japanese?

Well, of course side from Japan & Hawaii (which is almost a country by itself).

I live in Vancouver and travel back and forth from here to either Tokyo, Hong Kong & Singapore.

I noticed lately the huge increase of either Japanese or Korean visitors strolling downtown. It is quite obvious that most of them are either students or have a working visa.

I'm not absolutely sure, but I think here in Germany live around 30,000 Japanese, around 7000 of them in Duesseldorf alone.
2000 of the Japanese who live in Germany are students.

I'd say most likely the large numbers of Japanese that emigrated to South America and helped establish communities there after WWII (or earlier ? for the large tracts of land ?). Fujimori was only overthrown a few years ago after all as President of Peru for his involvement in a bribary scandal and forced to flee to Japan.....

In Mexico it was because of population basically, there was not racial concern actually, except in WWII, Japanese people were hated because they sank two Mexican oiler ships. Japanese people back to Mexico about one decade after WWII.

Well, I don't know anyone called Jasus Tanaka, but indeed, there are several people with Japanese last names.

I tried to find the number for all Japanese in Germany but found only numbers for some federal states. Hence I had to estimate. This is pretty hard, since the numbers I found vary greatly, for Duesseldorf they ranged from 6500 to 8000. :?
