Visiting MOA Museum in Atami

Hello,

My wife and I are planning a short visit to Japan late this year. We are arriving in Tokyo on December 25th and leaving on December 31st.

During our time in Japan, we would like to check out the MOA Museum of Art in Atami-city. I've checked their website (http://www.moaart.or.jp/japanese/top.html) and their english webpage seems to suggest they are closed from Dec. 25 to 31. Can someone who can read Japanese confirm this on their Japanese website? It would be extremely disappointing if the museum is closed during our visit.

That is correct.

In general - all museums and government facilities ie parks, art galleries etc will be closed at that time in Japan.
Trust me - I found out when I was in Japan some years ago.

Well, that sucks... I should have found this out before we booked our plane tickets.

So you're saying all museums are closed for the entire week?!? What will be opened during that week that we can check out?!?
